Description

Who We Are + What We Do:

As part of the Cox Automotive family, VinSolutions is building a connected suite of software solutions and services to help automotive dealers thrive in today's digital retailing environment. From online research to in store negotiations, our integrated approach is making buying, selling and shopping for a car more efficient and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Our Engineering Teams:

At VinSolutions, we offer the chance to do your best work and lead the digital revolution of the auto industry with gusto. Our engineering professionals are energetic influencers who have built a world-class software platform for auto dealers from the ground up. Collaboration is woven into the fabric of everything we do; from 24-hour Hackathons to product demos and Scrum and Kanban teams, you'll be immersed in an environment that nurtures individualism, creative problem-solving, and intellect.

The Job:

As a Scrum Master in our Mission, KS office, you will have the opportunity to work with elite Kanban and Scrum teams working in a collaborative environment.  You will have the opportunity to work with multiple teams across the organization – moving impediments out of the way on your own teams and participating in Agile adoption across the enterprise.  You will also be leading the team to develop new products and services that will revolutionize how cars are purchased.

Your Role:

Demonstrate Agile principles

  • Not only understand Agile, but are passionate about it.
  • Ensure team members hold each other accountable for adhering to agile practices.
  • Resolve impediments - Ability to sniff out team impediments and induce plans to remove those in a timely manner.
  • Inspect and adapt always.
  • Stay positive.
  • Be a Servant Leader.
  • Protect the team; limit external distractions.
  • Know methodologies and when they apply (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Hold team accountable for continuous improvement regarding their accurate prediction on when work items are going to be delivered.
  • Stay up to speed with company vision, product vision, and engineering priorities.
  • Limit WIP and look for trends on Throughput and Cycle Time.
  • Ability to rally the troops.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts that arise.

Own "the process"

  • Ensure that ceremonies happen at the appropriate cadence and all artifacts are created and maintained.
  • Challenge the team to deliver small units of work.
  • Ensure the team owns the outcomes, not individuals, and is accountable as a whole.
  • Monitor the board & challenge the team when work is stuck.
  • Ask the hard questions.
  • Key Communicator/Tracker of Team Deliverables
  • Ability to communicate early and often to team and leaders, regarding progress/concerns/waterlines/trends.
  • Ability to show if we are on track or not through the use of common Agile tools (burn up/burn down/Cycle Time/Lead Time/Throughput).
  • Hold Product Owner accountable to adjust priorities according to business shifts.

Leadership

  • Coach and mentor others on agile and approaches that work.
  • Facilitate feedback to team in timely manner on improvements, what’s working, what’s not.

Qualifications

What we look for:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience supporting a team as a Scrum Master in Scrum and Kanban teams.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • One or more of the following relevant Agile certifications is required: CSM, CSPO, CSP, CSC, CST, Scrum.org, DSDM, ICAgile, PMI-ACP.
