The Meadows is seeking a Unit Secretary on a per diem basis to join our team. 

The Meadows is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central PA.  The Meadows is located on a beautiful 52-acre campus, minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania. As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows is provides comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults.  Treatment is based on age appropriate care.  The Meadows is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and is also accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC).


Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Unit Nurse Manager, the Unit Secretary is responsible for organizing and completing the day-to-day tasks of the unit.  The Unit Secretary is also responsible for general office functions, such as: filing, scheduling, logging, typing reports, and functions as receptionist as needed.  The Unit Secretary is also responsible for delivering charts to medical records and units as needed.

Hours of work  will be scheduled primarily Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7am to 3:30pm.  The anticipated work hours of this position are expected to be up to 40 hours per week while incumbent staff is on leave and as needed there after.

Job Requirements

The Unit Secretary position requires:

  • High School Diploma

  • Strong Word and Excel skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work in a positive manner with nursing staff, patients, families and the public

  • Familiarity with the use of standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and telephones
