Coral Shores Behavioral Health is an 80 bed state of the art behavioral health facility located in Stuart, Florida. The facility is an all adult, baker act receiving facility. Coral Shores Behavioral Health is a subsidiary of Universal Health Services. UHS is one of the Nation's largest and most respected healthcare management companies. We are pleased to announce the following position in which we are recruiting:

SECURITY / MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN - full time - NIGHTS - three 12 hour shifts per week

The Security/Mental Health Technician provides primary intervention in crisis situations, provides physical protection to patients and staff; Provides continuous patient care supervision, interactions & role modeling to patients; ensures a safe environment, leads therapeutic MHT patient groups; conducts Q15 rounds and one to one patient supervision.

Job Requirements
Education: High School Graduate or equilivent 
Experience: Prior experience in security, Handle With Care, CPI or SAMA highly preferred
Additional Requirements: BLS Certification


All Staff Physical Requirements: Stand, sit or walk for periods up to 4 hours.  Hear spoken word in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes and other displays. Recognize vocal intonation that signal changes in acuity. Bend, reach, stoop.  Write legibly so as to accurately convey information.  Read instructions and complete reports


Additional Physical Requirements:
Move efficiently enough to meet the needs of several patients and/or move rapidly to provide timely intervention of patient aggression
Restrain, as part of a team, an aggressive patient in a safe and therapeutic manner
Lift, position or move a patient in order to perform (or assist in) searches, procedures, and or administer injections
Perform activities requiring manual dexterity.
Lift up to 30 lbs.
Job Hazards: 
Internal/external disasters in which appropriate policies, procedures & plans must be followed to protect patients, staff and/or self
Sharp Instruments/needle sticks, infections, communicable diseases.
Occasional exposure to hazardous/toxic chemicals and/or cleaning agents listed in the SDS sheets
Regular participation in therapeutic crisis intervention with physically aggressive patients that may involve personal risk
Regular exposure to patients - milieu may be unpredictable and subject to loud volume, excessive activity up to and including violence from patient aggression.
