What You’ll Do
We have an exciting early in career Security Systems Engineer role open in our Global Security Sales Organization! In this position, you will provide guidance and assistance to account teams and customers in building Security solutions which address specific customer needs in today’s Cyber Threat focused business environment.  You will be a highly motivated, sales professional who has a passion for delivering world-class technology and services that protect our customers from the network to the endpoint to the Cloud.  As part of your DNA, you are a dynamic, self-starter with the ability to build executive relationships, help develop and execute sales strategies and tactics that maximize Cisco’s opportunity within the customer environment, position and promote the partner and customer value proposition for Cisco’s Security Architecture, articulate Cisco’s product and business strategies, and create the demand that makes deals happen! 
This is a great opportunity for the early in career professional to grow their knowledge, sales, and collaboration skills as well as learn to work as a technical leader in the Security technology field with today's most innovative teams in a demanding and growing industry environment - enabling career advancement in technical or management roles.  The role will include Region and or Operation responsibilities for selected major Commercial Select account opportunities.

Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field

• Serve as the subject matter expert in Cisco Security Solutions
• Provide guidance and assist account teams within the territory in building solutions to address specific customer security needs
• Work with technology experts to help them position Cisco's security solutions effectively against competing offerings.
• Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major account opportunities
• Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements
• Understand and articulate Cisco's architectures and services within Security technologies
• Create, present and document technical solutions
• Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects
• Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. - technical consulting, upper-level management presentations, and Cisco technology solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership

Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in assigned major account opportunities

The role will include some travel responsibilities


Who You’ll Work With
In this role as Security Systems Engineer, you will be working with technology experts in the Security field to help them position Cisco's security solutions effectively against competing offerings.

Who You Are
• BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
• Pre-sales experience highly preferred

2+ years related experience in Security

Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team

Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills
• Ability to train and disseminate information within an Area of Operation
• Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources
• Successful completion of Cisco’s early in career training program and/or 1-2 years with Cisco’s GVE program is desired
• Understanding and conversant with company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, in Security
• Commercial awareness and communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter that does not need day-to-day management
• In-depth knowledge of baseline SE skills and in-depth knowledge in Security Solution areas including VPN/IPSec/SSL, Firewalls, Secure Routers, Security Management, ISE, 802.1x, Web Security, Email Security, and IPS are a plus but not required
