The Senior Account Manager serves as the liaison between OptumRx and the State Staff.  You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of multiple internal departments to deliver best - in - class service to our client.  You will serve as the lead to coordinate efforts with internal operational areas to ensure we are meeting these requirements. The ability to proactively identify client’s needs and establish proactive plans will be key in this role.  Relationship development, both internal and with the client’s key stakeholders, will be necessary to ensure client satisfaction.  As a key member of the Account team you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Account Management and Strategic Account Executive with client retention and growth. This position requires a high - performing individual with proven communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of the PBM environment, broader healthcare system and government contracting.  This position will require the ability to be connected to the entire account team to ensure we manage the Medicare EGWP and Non - Medicare business in a consistent manner.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Strategic Account Executive with the production of quarterly client status briefs, including identification of cost drivers, recommendations for cost savings opportunities, utilization reports, Rx Updates
  • Conducting regular on - site client meetings to proactively review client specific annual work plan reviewing proactive tasks and current progress with projects and ensure mutual understanding of deadlines and timeline for completion
  • Working with Strategic Account Executive on re - bid worksheets and renegotiating contracts with clients to obtain extended agreements
  • Understanding and executing the client contract according to the terms and conditions, including but not limited to the monitoring and reporting of performance guarantees
  • Work with operational areas to ensure their understanding of clients contractual requirements, goals and processes
  • Serving as the primary OptumRx contact for tactical, day to day management of assigned State client processes
  • Coordinate staff and materials to support clients Open Enrollment benefit fairs, health fairs and Member outreach programs throughout the year.  Participate in events as required
  • Understand and document all processes required to meet client’s contractual needs and monitor performance.  Identify areas for process improvement and lead projects to meet contractual requirements and client’s goals
  • Work with Client Service Analyst to monitor Plan Member issues, track and report issues and resolution metrics and monitor and identify and resolve global issues quickly
  • Work with the Financial / Data Analyst to monitor data and file exchange processes and report status to client
  • Work with Pharmacy Contracting team to ensure client requested access and provider recruiting needs are met
  • Work with Finance / Data Analyst to monitor and report on billing process and State Controller Office billing process
  • Actively participates in OptumRx’s Compliance and Ethics Program, including attending annual compliance and ethics training and reporting suspected violations of the law or OptumRx’s policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet corporate objectives
