As a Staff Accountant within our Regulatory Finance – Reporting and Accounting division, you will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, changes in capital and surplus, and statements of cash flow, pursuant to Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), which is based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will prepare multiple quarterly and annual statutory filings, supplemental filings related to Health Care Reform, other state supplemental filings, as well as the annual audited financial statements. You will prepare and record journal entries in accordance with SAP and Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) requirements.
- Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Participate on working groups to develop and communicate innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
