As part of the Corporate Controllers Department and the CFO Organization of PFI, the Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization is responsible for the controllership activities in support of the U.S. business units including the International activities performed domestically.  The Financial Reporting team supports GAAP and Statutory reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, and internal and external audit support.  The team partners with Business Unit Finance areas, Alternative Asset Group (AAG), PGIM Businesses, Investment Operations teams and other corporate areas.

 

The Financial Reporting Specialist position will support the Financial Reporting team with responsibility to oversee and prepare various subsidiary financial statements, disclosures and regulatory filings. This position is located in Newark, NJ.

 

The responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Preparation and analysis of subsidiary reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in PFI 10-K/Qs
  • Development of a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow driver analysis for all subsidiary legal entities
  • Participant in cross-BU/functional area projects in the structuring of new investment subsidiaries
  • Annual stand-alone subsidiary audited financial statements and footnote preparation, including collaboration with various external auditors and several internal support teams
  • Partner with Business Unit Finance areas, Corporate areas and other internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters
  • Preparation of various quarterly subsidiary financial statements for regulatory or business management reporting
  • Completing federal agencies/departments regulatory filing survey responses
  • Ensure the accuracy, reasonability and completeness of GAAP financial results including balance sheet, income and cash flow statements and supporting periodic external/internal auditor inquiries.
  • Assist with the implementation of new or updated GAAP accounting guidance
  • Maintain internal control standards to ensure compliance with SOX and other external accounting policies and standards
  • Support FSS mission objective of continuously identifying and developing process and reporting efficiencies
  • Maintaining documentation of processes and procedures, including internal controls
  • Assist in FSS-wide or local special projects and initiatives 

 

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, Master degree or MBA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of financial reporting and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Organized, analytical and detail oriented
  • Ability to collaborate and partner on various assignments
  • Self-motivated and proactive with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel functions
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, Supplementals, Workiva)
  • Overtime is required during peak periods
