Position Title: Senior Actuarial Associate (Individual Annuity Valuation)
Job Code: 444318
Job Location: New Jersey-Newark

The individual will be an integral part of the GAAP Valuation team within the Annuities Valuation Center of Excellence, which is responsible for reporting and analyzing the risks of the Annuities business. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include performing attribution and sensitivity analysis for GAAP actuarial balances and clearly explaining results as well as being a key contributor in high visibility projects. This position also involves problem solving and coming up with solutions for ad-hoc requests. It is a very dynamic team and its functions are critical to the success of Individual Annuities business.

The individual’s responsibilities may include:

· Perform monthly/quarterly Annuities GAAP reporting and analysis

· Assist in preparing and presenting results to Annuities senior leaders

· Work closely with Annuities Finance and Corporate Actuarial for GAAP-related deliverables

· Contribute to and/or lead user acceptance testing of changes to the annuity actuarial model, including development of new reports to support the financial reporting process

· Work closely with Actuarial Modeling team and IT area to ensure timely model production runs are performed

· Address requests from various corporate functions – Internal Audit, Risk Management, Treasurer, Portfolio Management, Chief Investment Office, etc.

· Support pricing/development of new products

· Enhance analytical tools and processes

· Ad hoc research and development

     · Bachelor degree or higher

· Must have at least 2 years of experience in the field of actuarial science

· Actuarial exam progression a strong plus

· Some experience in annuities is a plus

· Must be highly motivated, well organized, and detail oriented

· Ability to work on multiple projects and help resolve conflicting priorities

· Strong verbal and documentation skills

· Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuaries

· Flexible to meet deliverables

· Strong technical skills (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, etc.)

· Programming Experience in any computer language is preferred (e.g. Visual Basic, C , etc.)
