Prudential International Insurance (PII) continues to be one of Prudential's fastest growing and most profitable business groups. PII has insurance operations in eleven countries around the world (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, and Italy) and is looking to fill a new Senior Actuarial Associate position in the Actuarial department in Newark, New Jersey.

This position will support US GAAP and US Stat modeling and also handle various projects and key initiatives, and will report to a Vice President, Actuarial of the PII Actuarial Modeling team. The team is responsible for a variety of projects, such as US GAAP and US Stat modeling support, actuarial platform management, as well as model risk and actuarial operational risk. Modeling is a core skill set for actuaries. This position will provide great opportunity to learn modeling of life, health and annuity products for US GAAP and US Stat.

Responsibilities include:

•Support our Italy and India operations for Quarterly US GAAP reporting in Polysystems
•Support model development in Polysystems and US GAAP targeted change implementation for our Country’s Life, Health and Annuity business
•Support the US Stat and AAT model development, testing and documentation for the $10B PII PICA USD Japan WL and DA block
•Build and improve other actuarial valuation/projection models in Polysystem and Prophet for a variety of products (life, annuity, and investment) and various purposes (SOP 03-1, FAS 107, FASB targeted changes, AAT and C3P1).
•Analyze and validate valuation results and projection cash flows from the actuarial modeling software
•Work with local operations and business partners on producing rapid analytic solutions to quantitative inquiries from a wide array of business groups
•Support the research and assessment of existing actuarial models, products, issues, needs, procedures and user proficiency of each country
•Support other actuarial infrastructure related initiatives








•Degree in Actuarial Science, mathematics, finance, computer science or other quantitative related fields are preferred
•Minimum of 2 or 3 actuarial exams or related advanced degree preferred
•Strong actuarial modeling experience with actuarial software (such as Polysystems, Prophet)
•2 to 3 years of actuarial modeling experience is desired
•Broad understanding and relevant experience with US GAAP and US Stat in Life and /or Annuity products
•Proficiency in VBA preferred
•Ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models
•Self-motivated individual
•Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables
