Description:

The Retirement Actuarial Projections Team is looking for top talent to support Asset-Liability modeling used for GAAP, Capital, Forecast, and Management Reporting purposes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Run Asset-Liability Projection Models for Pension Risk Transfer, Structured Settlements, and other Retirement products.  Produce and analyze results.  Model results are used for GAAP Loss Recognition Testing reporting, Margin in Reserves, Forecasting/Sensitivities, and other financial analysis purposes.
  • Build and/or improve asset-liability models and processes.  Test and validate modeling changes and ensure reasonability of overall model results.
  • Assist in developing more robust analytics/attribution capabilities to validate results and explain period over period changes.
  • Engage in projects to support business initiatives, new products, and modeling/methodology improvements.
  • Assist with annual assumption updates (economic, mortality, expense, etc).  Interact with Assumptions area and Corporate Actuarial to understand assumption changes.  Quantify and explain impacts of updates.
  • Define business requirements for new models and model updates in support of new products and methodology changes. Partner with RAMP (Retirement Actuarial Modeling Platform) team and ESFS to implement model changes.
  • Maintain up to date documentation and controls in accordance with model risk standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and key stakeholders both within Retirement Actuarial and across business groups (Corp. Actuarial, Portfolio Management, Finance, etc) to achieve objectives and share best practices. 

 
  • Experience with asset-liability modeling for Loss Recognition Testing or Asset Adequacy Testing and/or experience in a related area (pricing, portfolio management, etc) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Retirement products, a plus
  • Strong quantitative and communication skills to quickly learn and apply complex modeling concepts and be able to communicate to both actuarial and non-actuarial business partners.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Investments (mainly Fixed Income assets) is preferred
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software (GGY AXIS, MG ALFA, Prophet, etc) is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills required to efficiently analyze large amounts of data (Excel, VBA, SQL)
  • Professional designation (ASA/FSA, CERA, and/or CFA) or progress towards, is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
