Prudential Group Insurance has an opportunity for an experienced business continuation and controls analyst to join our newly formed Operations Centralized Capabilities team reporting to the Director of Operations Controls.  The Operations Controls team oversees all control functions – audit, risk, compliance, business continuation, records management, privacy, etc. - for the GI Operations units, which include the Underwriting, Claims and Service Operations. The Business Controls team guides, directs, and executes on multiple control function initiatives to ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements.  The team proactively works to mitigate and reduce risk within Group Insurance in support of Prudential’s mission of providing financial wellness solutions for our customers.
The business continuation and controls senior analyst will partner with peers and more senior staff to coordinate the design, development, maintenance, and testing of Business Continuation disaster recovery plans for the GI Operations organization.  Additionally, the senior analyst will leverage expertise and experience to partner with peers to design and maintain oversight and governance frameworks for other control function work across Underwriting, Claims, and Service.  This will include, but is not limited to, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance control areas.
This position can be located in Roseland, NJ or Dresher, PA or Portland, ME or Scottsdale, AZ.
Job responsibilities:
Develop, maintain and test Business Continuation plan designs for evolving Underwriting, Claims and Service (UCS) functional units with an initial focus on Service Operations Plans.  Plan and execute in accordance with all Enterprise and GI Business Continuation directives and initiatives, including Health Crisis Walkthroughs, warm site and application testing, etc.
Partner with peer Underwriting, Claims, and Service (UCS) Business Continuation planners to develop and deliver BC Awareness programs for UCS functional teams, develop and leverage best practices across UCS, streamline and optimize BC plans as appropriate. Manage and direct outage situations in line with GI BC standards.
Additional Control Area Initiatives – With manager and peers, design and maintain governance/oversight frameworks for other control function work across Operations - Underwriting, Claims, and Service.  This will include Privacy, Risk, and Compliance oversight, coordination, and execution for Operations.
Build strong relationships and effectively communicate with key stakeholders, subject matter experts and process excellence team members to ensure alignment, clear understanding of goals, and focus on delivering meaningful results for the Operations team. Comfort in matrixed partnerships and teams is essential.

  • 5 years’ business experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Preferably 2 – 3 years’ experience in business continuation and / or control function areas.  Group Insurance experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to influence work of others in a diverse matrix environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills including team collaboration, leadership, presentation, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
