As a Business Systems Senior Analyst, you will work closely with finance teams and cross-functional business partners to provide actionable insights and identify improvement opportunities of Walmart Global eCommerce business. You will be expected to gather project and operational requirements for the Financial Intelligence Reporting Solutions Team (FIRST). Your primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, reviewing and communicating business objectives and translating into technology specifications. The Senior Analyst role will also be responsible for ing research, problem solving skills and industry best practices to define solutions in cooperation with the FIRST Program Manager, finance and the data engineering teams. The position will also work closely with business and IT associates in support of various testing activities and phases. In addition to your analytical skills and business acumen, your ability to partner with engineering teams, trouble-shooting technical issues and communicate with business team in a friendly, succinct manner will be critical for this role.
•Proactively identify improvement opportunities by providing actionable insights.
•Comprehend business requirements and partner to deliver the BI solutions to technical specifications.
•Prepare status updates on a regular basis to all stakeholders.
•Partner and support business units on the day-to-day execution of analytics, projects and initiatives.
•Partner with engineering BI teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.

  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in business systems analysis and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
  • Ensures integrity and efficiency of reports and data
  • Identifies best practices for merchandise reporting
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Oversees the user acceptance testing (UAT) process for Walmart.com
  • Partners with supported functions to determine reporting solutions
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions
  • Supports business decision making and achievement of annual financial plans for Walmart.com

Minimum Qualifications

•IT Project Management experience (Waterfall and Agile).
•Excellent analytical skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Familiarity with BI and EPM best practices.
•Bachelor s degree in Statistics, Math, Information Systems, Finance or related field and 3 years of experience in data analytics or related field OR 5 years of experience in data analytics or related field OR Master's degree in Statistics, Math, Information Systems, Finance or related field and 1 year experience in data analytics or related field
•Excellent presentation skills, being able to present high-level analytics to key stakeholders and executives.
•Ability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring deadlines are met and data output is accurate and appropriate for the business.
•Must also be able to deal with ambiguity and make independent decisions about what data and approach is best for the task at hand.

Preferred Qualifications

•Knowledge of Hyperion, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Looker and other similar BI and Analytics tools
•Experience using in-database analytics, SQL, or similar programming languages to retrieve, merge, and data scrubbing from multiple sources or platforms.
•Strong understanding of FP&A and Controllership functions
•Understanding of retail and e-commerce industry
