Cox Communications is seeking a Senior Application Administrator (“Application Administrator III”) who will be responsible for providing application and integration support for Enterprise applications in Corporate Services team which is part of the Enterprise Dev & Ops Technology organization.  This individual will be responsible for having in depth knowledge of support operations and will play an integral role in supporting, maintaining and enhancing the reliability of the applications supported. This includes but not limited to Oracle Incentive Compensation, Oracle Hyperion, IBM UNICA, HP PPM applications and other applications\tools used by Finance, Marketing and Technology organizations. Responsibilities of the role also include coordination with Offshore resources, leading projects and overseeing tactical deployments.

“Application Administrator III” is an IT professional whose skills, experience, and in-depth understanding of support operations is essential in operating as the liaison between the business and technology teams. As well as triaging, delegating and leading vendor (Offshore) resources to resolve priority issues and requests.  Likewise, the candidate’s skills, experience and in-depth understanding of Oracle and Java based applications including System Administration is equally vital in this role.  In addition to operations support, the individual will also partner with Business and Technology teams on releases and projects to provide technical requirements, and recommend design changes to address break-fix issues and   increase operational efficiencies.   In this role, the individual must be able to work with customers to define and translate application issues into a system solution.  Technical understanding of the application\tools is required to adequately triage issues as they are logged.  In this role, the individual will be responsible to manage the efforts of offshore resources supporting the defined applications and tools.  The team collectively will be responsible for managing production incidents\issues, batch operations, integrations, technical configuration, security, and break/fix solutions and manage tickets (SRs, Cases, Incidents) with Oracle, IBM, HP and other 3rd party vendors.

This position is in Production Operations & Support group and therefore should be assumed that the individual will participate in any operational rotations such as on call duty and off hour deployments, maintenance to avoid/minimize impacts to our customers.  

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties: 
Oversee and provide Tier 3 platform, application and integration support.
Coordinate with Offshore resources on day-to-day operations, application support and maintenance, platform management and service assurance activities. 
Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.
Function as liaison between business and Technology teams and interpret requests/issues into technical or non-technical terms.  
Collaborate with business and technology teams to resolve or mitigate production and non-production issues.
Partner with application development and project delivery teams to successfully deploy projects, code releases and support solution stabilization.
Drive Ops readiness requirements during SDLC of a new project and/or enhancement.
Engage in support consultations with the business to translate non-technical and Ops requirements into technical design requirements.
Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of application processes, jobs/batch processes, interfaces, reports and BI solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum: 
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
More than 7 years of experience in PL\SQL programming and troubleshooting. Must be able to develop complex queries and procedures to resolve production issues.  
At least 5+ years working knowledge and experience in Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Hyperion and/or HP Project Portfolio Management and/or IBM UNICA applications.
Strong technical understanding of Oracle and/or Java based applications. 
Advanced knowledge of Oracle database table structures and SQL tools (i.e. SQL *Plus, TOAD, SQL Developer etc.)
Proven experience in working in Linux and/or Windows environments. 
Strong technical analytical skills that have been proven in an IT environment.
Ability to pro-actively identify and understand problems and/or issues and develop solutions.
Proven ability to meet project deadlines and high pace demands.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer relationship skills.
Comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with team members from other areas to accomplish common objectives.
Able to prioritize and multi-task.
Competent with project management and Agile methodologies and tools.
Knowledge of ITIL processes.
Complete understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
Ability to be on call 24x7 and work occasionally on weekends\after hours.
 
Preferred: 
Advanced Degree
10+ years’ experience in related field
Functional understanding of Oracle OIC (Oracle Incentive Compensation) and\or Oracle Hyperion practices\standards.
Experience in Weblogic or JBOSS administration.
Understanding of 3rd party products such as Remedy and ServiceNow.
Experience in supporting vendor hosted or Cloud based applications.
