The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Senior Application Analyst- Cerner Support.

The Senior Application Analyst supports the implementation of UHS applications. Monitors the resolution of maintenance or enhancement issues assigned by the UHS Customer Support Center.  Provides technical support to UHS entities as needed. Receives, evaluates and assigns or otherwise addresses Cerner user requests for assistance regarding problems related to IS systems in accordance with department problem resolution and escalation protocols. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of team and is viewed as an employee with significant technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Establishes and maintains regular communications with Acute Care and Corporate users regarding the description and disposition of user requests for assistance, requiring normal business courtesy and decorum, telephone etiquette, and the ability to ascertain the exact nature of the problem.
  • Independently provides first tier problem analysis with the objective of resolving as many incidents/tickets as possible and communicating back to the customer.
  • Answers incoming calls regarding clinical hardware and software and accurately resolves or properly escalates as appropriate.
  • Serves as primary technical liaison to end users for break/fix  and/or requirements and issues related to the Cerner application.
  • Independently assists the customer in identifying and specifying the nature of the request or problem.
  • Maintains proficiency in IT systems as well as desktop technology.
  • Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
  • Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.

Position Requirements:

  • Five or more years of Information Systems experience. 
  • Three to five years of Cerner Millennium experience.
  • Significant knowledge of healthcare system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.
  • Provides operational guidance to influence adherence to the IT organizational goals and objectives.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of healthcare systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional design. 
  • Working knowledge of healthcare systems workflow    development, documentation, and analysis, of systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications.
  • General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the healthcare applications. 
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency. 

License or Registration Requirements: Cerner Production Support Experience Required


Travel Requirements: 5 - 25% domestic US travel (depending on projects).
