Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Application Developer for our Minnetonka, MN location responsible for the following: collaborating with technical teams to develop solutions that are reusable; researching, evaluating, identifying alternative development approaches; acquiring and integrating administrative (claims), supplemental (EMR, immunization etc.) and other healthcare data for quality programs like HEDIS; scheduling Jobs/Job Streams with Tivoli (TWS) or equivalent job scheduling tool; Developing programs using programming languages (shell scripts, PERL, TWS, C++, and .NET); preliminary understanding of a variety of modeling and/or diagramming techniques, with the ability to create process flow diagrams and understand the entity relationship models; documenting technical designs to ensure clients’ needs are captured; Extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data into the enterprise data warehouse and data marts; troubleshooting Teradata/Oracle/SQL problems and providing timely solutions; collaborating with the offshore coordinator to resolve development gaps in DI and ensuring these decisions are documented; developing ETL code and meeting 100% of the technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs; identifying and communicating development issues and recommending potential solutions; conduct ETL unit tests and code reviews; participating in system and integration tests; identifying and remedying solution defects; creating other technical deliverable artifacts needed for project implementation; and conducting knowledge transfers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and 5 years related, progressive, post-baccalaureate, experience.
  • Must also have 4 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) Developing ETL code and meeting all technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs; 2) Conducting ETL unit tests and code reviews; 3) Scheduling Jobs/Job Streams with Tivoli (TWS) or equivalent job scheduling tool;  4) Developing programs using programming languages (shell scripts, PERL, TWS, C++, and .NET). Must also have demonstrated experience with acquiring and integrating administrative (claims), supplemental (EMR, immunization etc.) and other healthcare data for quality programs like HEDIS.
  • Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
