Description The Cell Culture Process Development Senior Associate Scientist is a highly productive, technical, lab-based individual contributor who, independently or with appropriate supervision, applies technical and scientific knowledge and practical experience to deliver high quality technical/ laboratory results. The Cell Culture Process Development Senior Associate Scientist efficiently and successfully executes CPD Platforms and other Work Processes in the development of mammalian culture processes suitable for non-GMP and/ or GMP production of protein biotherapeutics and documents all lab activities in notebooks/ elsewhere as required and appropriate, in a timely fashion.



**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Authors technical reports, presents/ discusses their lab data in appropriate venues (such as CPD Lab Meetings and Project Team meetings), contributes to internal/ external posters/ publications and contributes to Regulatory Filings/responses to Regulatory questions.

+ Contributes to CPD novel technology development and work process optimization activities in grade-appropriate manner. Depending on experience, has ability (technical and interpersonal skills, and awareness of functional area deliverables) to provide training/ mentoring of more junior colleagues in specific lab techniques or processes.

+ Supports the CPD Group Leader by providing feedback, information, and ideas regarding project, technology, and organization development.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ B.S./ M.S. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Chemical/Biochemical engineering with 2-5 years of work experience in Cell Culture and/or Fermentation preferred

+ Prior experience transferring or supporting on-site and off-site clinical manufacturing is desirable

+ Exposure to regulatory guidance and how they influence CPD development practices

+ Excellent oral and written communications skills

+ Potential to take on roles of increasing complexity and responsibility

+ Ability to perform mathematical calculations and moderate to complex data analysis

+ Proficiency with Microsoft /equivalent software tools



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Experience working in a GMP facility

+ Exposure to AMBR and/or Bench Scale Bioreactors.



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**



+ Occasional night and weekend work may be required

+ Occasional travel may be required (0-5%)
