*Role Description*

We seek an in vivo scientist to join the in vivo pharmacology group within the Oncology Research Unit (ORU) in Pfizer La Jolla. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scientists in the Oncology In Vivo Pharmacology Group, playing a key role in the cancer model development, performing in vivo studies to enable target identification, validation and small molecules drug discovery. Ideal applicants will be highly motivated, possess excellent technical, communication, organizational skills, critical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence.



*Responsibilities*

*Design and conduct in vivo studies to evaluate in vivo efficacy and PK/PD relationship. *Data interpretation, presentation and documentation of experiments as well as preparation of reports. *Interact productively with peers and project members, cross-functional teams and initiatives.*Regularly read scientific papers and implement learnings in the study designs or project strategies.



*Qualifications*

Education and Experience: *BS/MS in biology or similar programs with 3 years (BS) or 0-3 years (MS) of related experience *Expertise in in vivo pharmacology or experience Skill or work Requirements: *Hands-on experiences with cancer animal models such as syngeneic or xenograft models *In vivo skills (IV, PO dosing), blood/tissue collection.*Some ex vivo skills such as FACS or Western blot are strongly desired. *Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in all common Microsoft Office and Graphpad Prism software. *Strong ability to multi-task and work productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and diverse team environment. Capability to contribute to a vivid and challenging intellectual environment.*Requires some evening and/or or weekend hoursPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS *Extended periods of sitting and standing*Able to work and move around in a lab environment*Able to lift, carry, reach and push objects*Exposure to chemical or biological hazardous material and rodent allergensNON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS *Requires some evening and/or or weekend hours
