This position in collaboration with the Lead Auditor and Assistant Director of Internal Audit, assists in the execution of the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process by performing walk-throughs, documenting processes, completing testing procedures, communicating results to process owners, assisting with audit report development, and providing training/coaching to staff auditors. 

Essential Job Duties

  • In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Internal Audit and the Director of Internal Audit performs data analytics to aide in the development of the scoping and selection process of SOX audits.  
  • Develops audit testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.
  • Ensures successful completion of assigned audit engagements, inclusive of pre-planning and wrap up activities.
  • Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by reviewing and analyzing supporting documentation.
  • Effectively communicates audit findings with various stakeholders. Executes audit work programs as assigned in a timely manner and with adequate supporting documentation for test work, findings, and corrective action plans.
  • Prepares summaries of issues and drafts comprehensive audit reports that are well-written and supported by the work papers.
  • Provides timely guidance to staff auditors and thorough review of their  audit deliverables, as assigned. Trains and coaches staff auditors in order to create a positive learning and working environment and to assist in the promotion of upward growth within the department.
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 1 - 3 years' related work experience.

  • Demonstrated progress toward obtaining a professional certification [e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)] and/or Master’s degree.
  • Familiarity with audit best practices and the consideration of operational implications. 
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation, relationship building, and interaction skills. 
  • Effective communication skills to proficiently discuss audit findings, compensating controls and potential risks. 
  • Travel up to 25%
