Description:

The Senior Business Analyst role is a position primarily responsible for working on projects of high complexity, performing proper collection and documentation of requirements as well as all other standard business analysis tasks.  The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for creating the Business Requirements Document (BRD), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Security Review Checklist (SRC) and User Acceptance Test Strategy.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
 
  • Partners with business stakeholders to define scope and priorities for business; drive business engagement and relationships to understand key business objectives to support analysis and business solution definition.
 
  • Participates in process and value stream discussions to identify the current state processes; and elicits, identifies and documents potential opportunities for improvements to identify future state processes.
 
  • Analyzes and assess requirements to identify upstream and downstream system and process impacts to proactively communicate impacts, risks, and solutions to other technology and business owners.
 
  • Ensures visual models to enable collective understanding of processes, user interaction, and others is produced and accurately reflects the elicited requirements.
 
  • Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Security Review Checklist (SRC), and User Acceptance Test Strategy.
 
  • Escalates risks and project issues to the Lead Business Analyst and Project Manager timely.
 
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager to document Change Controls due to scope.
 
  • Partners and supports Business Analyst on projects, as needed.
 
  • Ensures communication and clarification of requirements between the business and the technical system analyst team(s).
 
  • Participates in documentation of Peer Review results and timely feedback to his/her peers.
 
  • Responsible for consistent on-time delivery of quality deliverables in accordance with agreed upon plans.
 
  • Support all areas of software development lifecycle including quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing, training, etc.
 
  • Endorses a winning culture with a repeatable, process-based approach in which all members of the organization recognize the interdependence of the Plan/Build/Run model and their role in effectively delivering for the business customers.
 
  • Other duties and / or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
 

 

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

 

·         Minimum Bachelor’s Degree

 

 

·         8 years hands on experience performing detailed business analysis and requirements specifications creation for complex projects

 

 

·         5 years of Insurance or Group Insurance experience

 

 

·         Understands one or more project approaches such as Waterfall, Agile, and Iterative

 

 

·         Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format

 

 

·         Experience documenting UAT strategy

 

 

·         Process analysis and improvement experience

 

 

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

 

 

·         Strong collaboration skills

 

 

·         Excellent communication and time management skills

 

 

·         Skill at resolving conflict and negotiating effectively and tactfully

 

 

·         Proven flexibility and adaptability in effectively driving results in an environment of changing priorities

 

 

·         Self-motivated individual able to function effectively when working independently or in a team

 

 

 

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

 

·         Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) designation

 

 

·         Experience engineering business process improvements: Lean; Six Sigma
