Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and document business processes and project features/requirements
  • Consult with business departments to identify requirements
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives
  • Model business processes (current "as is" and future "to be")
  • Document business requirements in compliance with appropriate STS policies and procedures
  • Evaluate proposed system changes for downstream system and/or business process/departmental impacts
  • Prioritize and track issues to resolution or escalate to the Project Manager if appropriate
  • Provide agendas and follow up with meeting minutes
  • Participate in prototyping potential solutions to provide the business unit a preliminary evaluation and/or user interface experience
  • Work with the business to identify minimum system/application performance expectations and service levels
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels of the department and corresponding business unit.  (Business units include both UHCSR and UHC specific units)
  • Perform quality assurance application testing for new applications/systems and enhancements to existing applications/systems
  • Create Executable Requirements "XRs" and/or test plans in accordance with business requirements
  • Conduct functional and performance testing.  This includes application and system (end to end) testing
  • Document test results (defect tracking) using the designated tools, repositories and procedures
  • Work with the business to prioritize defects
  • Validate that all functions perform according to the relevant specifications
  • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of databases, system integration points and architecture that support the application
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more application areas
  • Analyze and inspect data before, during and after testing in all systems and supporting applications as appropriate
  • Assist team with project management related responsibilities
  • Facilitate group meetings with both internal and external clients
  • Manage small projects from inception through implementation
  • Comply with StudentResources Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Provide required problem/issue, status and time reporting
  • Maintain project materials on STS Team sites and Team wikis

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst experience
  • Advanced SQL experience
  • Process Mapping using Visio (or similar tool)
  • Requirements gathering facilitation
  • Use Case/User Story development
  • Advanced computer proficiency in a windows-based environment. (i.e. Solid experience using Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and technical documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational, planning, prioritization and analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with competing priorities across multiple projects
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years health insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree
