As the Implementation Director, you will be accountable for implementing complex state contracts and large growth opportunities. The Implementation Director will lead projects, bringing together key partners, customers, stakeholders and project management teams to deliver on the strategic and tactical objectives within our exciting and evolving growth portfolio.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for implementing large Medicaid Managed Care contracts with state government
  • Actively engage in state communications and meetings
  • Detail understanding of contract / RFP requirements, key risks, barriers and non-standard requirements within a program, as well as the mitigation plans/response strategies
  • Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
  • Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
  • Drive / participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g., presentations, cost - benefit analysis, business case)
  • Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Develop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies
  • Develop and implement contingency and recovery plans when deliverables are missed (e.g., identify critical path, document, plan for getting back on plan schedule, Business Continuity Plan, failover planning)
  • Drives operational excellence by identifying best practices, gathering global ideas for innovation, and making continuous improvements within the Implementation Team
  • Oversee coordination of project quality assurance reviews to ensure the highest-quality deliverables
  • Provides structure, processes and tools while supporting and controlling projects for successful delivery
  • Develop and execute implementation strategy and improvements in collaboration with Program Management Team and other department leaders
  • Provides projects with SME support, review and coaching
  • Drive resolution of escalated issues and risks and work to eliminate barriers or success
  • Relationship management with key partners in collaboration with Program Management Team and other department leaders
  • Create and maintain an environment of collaboration, best practices and knowledge sharing

This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively lead project teams and build relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping the team on track within the project scope and timeline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Related Field
  • 5+ years of healthcare operations and project management experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions. Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas
  • 2+ years of experience  working with state RFPs
  • Develop / maintain definition of project roles/responsibilities, and communicate to project participants (e.g., RACI matrices)
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with applicable project stakeholders
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects
  • PMP Certification
  • Medicaid experience
  • Strong operational focus with demonstrated project management, change management, and execution skills; Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision and drive results with disciplined follow-though
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to align people related strategies and recommendations with business objectives; Adaptable and flexible style of collaborating with key stakeholders in setting direction
  • Proven ability to quickly gain credibility, influence and partner with business leaders to drive action, alignment and collaboration
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing individuals and a team
  • Ability to lead and drive engagement in a virtual and distribute team environment
