Unit Description

General

  • Supports IS&T technical and deployment support activities related to Back of House processes associated with the NORAM Food & Retail Systems strategy (i.e. Menu Planning, Perpetual Inventory, Purchase Orders, Invoice Reconciliation, Transfers, Scales, Known Loss Tracking, Product Planning, Transfers).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Monitors various data flows and resolves issues as they arise while working with Business Partners driving towards permanent resolution.
  • Ability to create Level 3 technical support documentation, workflows and escalation procedures.
  • Evaluates technical solutions which meet operational, reporting, client, and business needs.
  • Develops detailed functional and technical specifications based on communication with the business.
  • Provides Level 3 Support Functions for Back of House Food & Retail Systems.

 

Strategic

  • Analyzes and develops functional and technical specifications for the integration and development of applications for the Menu Planning, Forecasting and Inventory systems.
  • Evaluates technical solutions which meet operational, reporting, client, and business needs to present data and tools to permit them to be stewards of the systems they support.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

 

Operational

  • Acts as part of the Food & Retail team to ensure SLA’s are met and to ensure high availability of mission critical systems.
  • Provides 24x7 on-call Level 3 support as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Prepares reports to communicate functional design, detailed design, entity relation diagrams, data flow diagrams, general processing instructions, testing recommendations, documentation recommendations, system limitations, and miscellaneous other internal documentation.
  • Supports QA and Rollout phases of the project by developing and executing test cases, UAT plans, verifying acceptance criteria and providing training and training documentation as required
  • Supports both functional and integrated testing to ensure quality standards are attained.
  • Attends review meetings to assist in identifying design issues that will improve unit operations productivity and product quality.
  • Participate in process assessment programs and make recommendations to improve software support methods.
  • Proactive escalation within a cross-functional matrix
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)

Capabilities

  • Excel as a data visualization tool – pivot tables, Visio swim lanes, and database schemas
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.PL/SQL (Oracle) and/or T/SQL (MS-SQL) query development
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.

Background

  • 3+ years’ experience in retail environment or technical support
  • Desirable to have a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering or equivalent Business degree, Database Administration certificate as an alternative credential
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong Communication and Organization Skills

Position Summary

The Senior Business Technology Analyst (SBTA) formulates and defines technology system's scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve Information Systems related problems. The position includes analysis of business and user needs, and documentation of requirements. Serves as a project leader, guides and advises less experienced analysts. Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the business environment. Provides the highest level of customer support to all customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years IT and business-related experience
