The Senior Compounding Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Technician license required) is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of prescription orders, answering incoming calls, completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.

This position is full - time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Compounding Medication in a sterile clean room environment
  • Use USP797 standards 
  • Staging medications for the compounding process
  • Picking and packing medications for shipment
  • Process prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
  • Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record
  • Enter prescriptions and verifying appropriate information 
  • Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve issues 
  • Process refills for patients weekly
  • Assess patients weekly regarding medication and any effects it may have on them
  • Resolve customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
  • Opportunity to cross - train as a compounding tech
  • Dealing with patients that are in need of specialty IV medications
  • Working with a team of people
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician License with the IV compounding Certification
  • 1+ years of experience providing customer service and working with healthcare professionals
  • 2+ years of experience with sterile IV compounding
  • Experience working with USP797 standards
  • 2+ years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills and learning new computer programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook (send emails), Microsoft Word (create basic documents), and Microsoft Excel (create and data entry for basic spreadsheets) to complete work assignments
  • Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) including the training period, where lunches and breaks are scheduled, with the flexibility to adjust daily schedule, and work overtime and / or weekends, as needed. 
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time, including 2 weeks for training.  
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete Pharmacy Operations training classes and demonstrate proficiency of the material
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience with CPR+
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to identify problems including complex issues and determine solutions, both independently or in a team / group setting
  • Communication skills including the ability to consult / advise, demonstrate empathy, and provide clear instructions or directions
