Position Description:

POSITION PURPOSE
The Product Safety Sr. Analyst will be responsible for conducting advanced modeling and analytics of customer feedback data with the goal of identifying, recommending, and executing strategies to mitigate risks associated with not identifying alleged product safety issues.   Execution of the data-driven process controls will enable Home Depot to meet or exceed mandatory, voluntary and company product safety standards.

 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partner with cross-functional counterparts to ensure development of well-thought out, sustainable, and effective solutions related to product safety objectives
  • Conduct thorough analyses to identify, prioritize, and recommend opportunities related to product safety objectives
  • Develop and maintain supplier collaboration tools in support of product safety objectives
  • Support existing business partners through being the subject matter expert about product safety processes and systems, providing analytics for metrics of efficiency, support the business in adhoc analyses, and prioritize the enhancements list for the IT team

  • This position reports to a Sr. Manager.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in mathematics, business, marketing, or some other quantitative discipline.

 

Years of Relevant Work Experience - 2

 

Physical Job Requirements - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relational database design/modeling
  • Experience with designing and developing dashboards using advanced visualization techniques; distribute reports using Tableau or Microstrategy
  • Experience identifying key data insights through traditional analytical tools (Excel,Tableau) or advanced statistical modeling techniques using SAS, R or similar tools
  • Experience querying and mining large data in SQL Server, Teradata or DB2 systems
  • Experience in data modeling and creating new databases from previously unstructured data sources
  • Experience with big data environment/Google Cloud
  • Experience with natural language processing

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills at all levels
  • Strong business intelligence and data analysis skills with proven ability that has resulted in scalable and actionable reporting solutions
  • Ability to Identify critical and key data sources across numerous and disparate data sources
  • Data modeling and creating new databases from previously unstructured data sources
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to sell ideas and concepts while also challenging others regarding processes
