**Role Summary**







Strategy and Commercial Operations (StratCO) consist of the following six groups that provide a number of critical business functions and services ranging from supporting Pfizer's corporate strategic planning to delivering commercial operations:







+ **Business Analytics:** Drives high-quality decisions through innovative business development, pipeline and commercial analytics.



+ **Digital Innovation:** Co-creates, builds and delivers digital innovation.



+ **Corporate Strategy:** Delivers the corporate strategic plan and accelerates innovation.



+ **Commercial Operations:** Delivers flawless and fit-for-purpose pan-BU commercial services, enabling excellence in external customer experience.



+ **Consulting & Execution:** Delivers sustainable strategic and operational solutions for Pfizer's toughest challenges.



+ **PHI** is comprised of business-facing, geography-facing and Center of Excellence teams focused on global pricing, real-world data and analytics, patient-centered outcomes assessment, global economics and health system innovation.







The Senior Director, Business Operations/Chief of Staff, Strategy and Commercial Operations (StratCO) will operate as a senior level operations and strategic liaison on a variety of StratCO's strategic initiatives, on-going internal and external deliverables, and special projects. This role will work closely with the EVP, the StratCO leadership team, and other Pfizer Business Units/Divisions and senior leaders. This role will support the EVP and the StratCO leadership team by ensuring the critical activities, initiatives, and day-to-day operations of the EVP office overall are fully aligned and progressing.. Other projects and deliverables will vary.







**Role Responsibilities**







+ Provide day-to-day operational support to the Executive Vice President (EVP) and the StratCO leadership team to enhance goal clarity, engagement, and organizational efficiency.



+ Ensure proactive planning and prioritization and alignment of activities and key messages between the EVP, StratCO Leadership team, ELT, and other Pfizer leaders.



+ Drive robust communication with the StratCO Leadership Team, BU leadership teams, ELT, and Pfizer enabling function leaders as well as external contacts.



+ Lead and or support StratCO and Pfizer Corporate initiatives, as appropriate.



+ Partner with Worldwide Communications group to support planning and management of communications needs of the EVP.



+ Coordinate internal and external meetings on behalf of the EVP office, including planning with critical BU and enabling function stakeholders and content providers to ensure clarity of scope and objectives.



+ Coordinate the compilation and/or creation of appropriate briefing materials, including the development of the EVP presentations; and coordinate and partner with Worldwide Communications to prepare for the EVP engagements and sponsored events (e.g., External speaking engagements, Town Halls), as needed.



+ Drive day-to-day operational support for the EVP's key interactions, meetings, presentations, etc.; and manages and oversee end-to-end planning of LT meetings.



+ Plan and facilitate leadership team meetings.



+ Anticipate and address key issues and opportunities across StratCO, ensure requests for action and information from internal and external stakeholders are delivered in a timely, coordinated manner; effectively handle correspondence and communications of routine and complex matters.



+ Manage and track commitments made by the EVP; execute follow-up activities as appropriate and ensure StratCO Leadership Team and staff implementation; summarize content of incoming materials, as requested.



+ Lead and/or support the compilation of strategic documents and presentations (e.g., Operating Plan, financial analyst briefings, etc.) in collaboration with other business partners.



+ Play a key role in the development of the StratCO Operating Plan and Goals by working with key business partners to drive an effective and efficient process for the EVP.



+ Support a culture of excellence; instill a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, measuring results, and rewarding the right behaviors; ensure adherence to all compliance guidelines, policies and procedures.



+ Develop partnerships with key colleagues in other functional areas ensuring ongoing alignment of goals and strategies and increased efficiency; help navigate broader StratCO and Pfizer organization to quickly connect colleagues to appropriate individuals or resources, as needed.



+ Coordinate with Finance to provide information to the StratCO Leadership Team for individual finance performance monthly discussion.



+ Deliver StratCO rollup budget to the EVP quarterly; ensure controllable issues are addressed and solutions provided.



+ Coordinate quarterly budget performance discussions and reallocation of funds as required across StratCO Leadership Team.



+ Drive alignment and coordination of efforts across StratCO including the identification and implementation of best practices.







**Qualifications**







+ Bachelor's degree required. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.



+ Twelve plus years of relevant experience advising or consulting senior leaders in a business or operational role (financial, marketing, policy, legal, etc.) and knowledge of healthcare, or the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.



+ Proven ability in managing day-to-day Planning and Operational activities; well-organized, creative, independent, self-motivated individual with exceptional presentation, written, and oral communication skills with internal and external senior executive stakeholders.



+ Strategic thinker; strong analytical and business skills required.



+ Demonstrated Pfizer business acumen; strong project management skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; the ability to respond to tight timelines; as well as, the capability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional and discrete manner.



+ Demonstrated ability to lead/influence people and teams without formal direct authority; manage a consensus at various levels and cultivate strategic internal relationships across a highly matrixed organization



+ Proven ability to devise and manage metrics/scorecards to measure effectiveness and productivity; strong analytic skills to assess information, draw conclusions, and recommend improvements, including the ability to build qualitative and quantitative arguments.



+ Ability to synthesize in-depth matters and support the review and execution of work.



+ Proven ability to develop a range of creative solutions to business challenges.



+ Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.



+ Some knowledge of Pharmaceutical products and legal regulations helpful.



+ Executive level experience and exposure a plus.



+ Ideal candidate should have a passion for strategy, operational excellence, analytics, global pricing and economics, and health system innovation.







NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS



Travel will vary but can be up to 15% of time







Ability to work to support a global leader with a demanding schedule is required
