Senior Director, Healthcare Digital Transformation and Consumerism - Telecommute (754284)

Position Description

No industry is moving faster than health care. And no organization is better positioned to lead health care forward. We need attention to every detail with an eye for the points no one has considered. The rewards for performance are significant. You'll help improve the health of millions. And you'll do your life's best work.(sm)

Senior Directors are key senior owners of the Optum Advisory Services provider business. They will lead work in a traditional consulting “sell and do” model, meaning they have full responsibility for the scoping, selling, and delivering of all services business for a specific set of clients. Senior Directors will also lead all same store sales growth efforts for their clients.  The senior director, healthcare digital transformation and consumerism will sit within the Strategy practice.

Senior Directors will operate either within a chosen discipline or against a specific set of clients.  They will have strong relationships with C-suite executives and will invest substantially in the overall relationship to identify additional opportunities to scope services work.   We will place a premium on quality, as opposed to quantity, of relationships – meaning that at steady state Senior Director should expect to spend the majority of their time with between 5-10 organizations where existing relationships are strong and services work is ongoing.  Their work at these organizations will be at least partially billable, and Senior Directors will have direct responsibility for the consulting team on the ground for their engagement and the quality of our team’s work.

Additionally, Senior Directors will maintain relationships with executives/organizations that may not yet be working officially with our services practice – including past clients or recent introductions.  To develop these de novo relationship and business opportunities, Senior Directors will spend a portion of their time driving relationship cultivation - at conferences, meetings and other national events – as well as through creating strong ties to client executives/strategic account partners within the broader OptumInsight growth office.

Senior Directors will have as a key priority advising clients on opportunities to participate in a broader array of Optum products and services including managed services, specific technologies and analytics platforms.  These individuals will receive education and training on these Optum-wide services during throughout their tenure in the role.

Finally, it is likely that the senior director role will evolve even further into a “Client Partner” role in years to come – whereby individuals will take ownership of the entire consulting portfolio for an even smaller set of providers.  In this scenario, partners will be the sole consulting/services representative, allowing them to get deeper across the range of issues faced by that institution’s executive team.  They will work collaboratively with fellow Partners whose expertise rests in a different topical terrain.

ou’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
