Reporting to the Vice President, Oncology Global Marketing and Commercial Development (GMCD) and serving on the GMCD LT, the Portfolio Initiative (PI) Lead is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and addressing above-brand portfolio opportunities and strategic issues. She/he will lead strategic initiatives, explore opportunities for innovation, and develop solutions that drive growth and provide a competitive advantage to Pfizer Oncology. Examples include, but are not limited to: cross-tumor strategies and initiatives, commercial innovation, real world evidence, companion diagnostics, global commercial and medical capabilities / best practices, medicine delivery, manufacturing, etc. The PI Lead will craft insight-based action plans and lead teams through the ideation, evaluation, and execution/implementation of leadership-endorsed recommendations. Success in this role will require the ability to partner collaboratively with the GMCD leadership team, Oncology commercial and medical teams, other functional partners (PGS, GHV, WRD, GPD, BD, Communications, Corporate Affairs, PIH Strategy, etc.), Biosimilars, and other PIH and PEH businesses. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, someone who is a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, attention to detail, collaborative abilities across the enterprise, and an ability to learn from and improve upon existing processes and develop/implement new processes, where appropriate.


+ Identify, evaluate, and recommend opportunities for commercial and medical innovation that support the growth of the oncology portfolio, e.g. around Launch excellence

+ Partner with GMCD leaders to develop portfolio strategies and lead strategic initiatives for GMCD that are above-brand, cross-tumor, cross-region, or cross-functional.

+ Develop GMCD strategy perspective for optimizing real world data for our portfolio

+ Develop and own, from a GMCD perspective, our pan-tumor companion diagnostic strategy

+ Own GMCD strategic narrative from a portfolio perspective

+ Partner with GPD and PDA on oncology portfolio strategies and communication

+ Develop and keep up to date integrated GMCD portfolio view incorporating in-line and pipeline portfolio

+ As needed, build and lead cross-functional project teams to generate data-driven recommendations and drive implementation in partnership with other functional leads

+ Proactively identify opportunities for collaboration with GMCD's functional and regional partners on innovative and strategic initiatives

+ Identify innovative collaborations with external groups

+ Partner with the GMCD DBO and GPD partner to lead and facilitate annual planning and the successful completion of the annual plan

+ Support business development initiatives as they relate to the portfolio

+ Lead competitive intelligence for the global portfolio


+ Minimum 15 + years pharmaceutical industry experience in both global and regional commercial roles including but not limited to marketing, sales, analytics, business development, organizational integration.

+ Demonstrated commercial experience in Oncology early and late stage development is highly preferred

+ Launch experience and understanding of clinical development pathway from PhI -IV

+ Broad strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and recommendation for direction or action

+ Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization; must be able to influence executive commercial, medical, and research leaders

+ Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex, cross-functional teams and drive for excellence and delivery

+ Innovative thinking and ability to create clarity from ambiguity, must be able to take nascent big ideas from self and others and develop them into actionable recommendations

+ Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority

+ Prior experience in a strategy, P&L, in-line marketing, or commercial development role is preferred

+ Prior consulting experience is preferred

+ BA/BS required. MBA highly preferred


+ Travel required as needed, up to 25%

+ Some longer days during busy periods.
