As a Senior Director Pharmacy Data Analytics, you'll provide leadership in the management and development of innovative Optum reporting products. Responsible for the identification analytic opportunities, and the development and integration of analytics services to support operational efficiencies at point of sales, service, and care within the pharmacy care services areas.  Collaborates with senior business and operations executives on identifying operations and product opportunities for moving analytics closer to the member, pharmacy, and physician.  Works with modeling teams to create the proof of value models to gauge benefits, and develops integration plans with application teams to leverage the models within the current application landscape.  Works to quantify benefit and develop execution plans with application teams and sees the integration through to completion.  Identifies the metrics and measurements required to sustain the capability in production.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify operational and product opportunities for leveraging machine learning and real - time analytics as point of care, service, and sale
  • Execute on proof of value predictive model builds working with data scientists from various teams to develop an initial capability
  • Create cost / benefit reports based on the proof of value to demonstrate potential value or cost opportunities
  • Identify integration points for using the predictive models within the pharmacy application architecture. Requires working with various application teams and architects to develop solution opportunities and quantify the impact on benefit based on the integration point
  • Develop reports and presentations recommending the approach to garner business /executive sponsorship for the initiatives
  • Manage / oversee the development / integration of the analytics with the application to deliver capability to production
  • Influence senior executives / leadership to adopt new ideas, products and / or approaches
  • Direct cross-functional and / or cross - segment teams
  • Company thought leader

  • Develops pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends



Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of technology / analytics leadership
  • 5+ years of Modeling and Analytics experience
  • Exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • 5+ years of software development / delivery experience
  • Good communication skills and coordination skills
  • Architecture / application integration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Health care experience
