Reporting to the Vice President, Pfizer Innovative Health (PIH) Strategy, this role is responsible for working with the Rare Disease Group to shape, develop, and enable execution of strategies that will advance and grow the business. The scope of the role will include all areas under the purview of the Rare Disease Group, including Commercial Development and inline marketing. While this position reports into the Strategy team organizationally, this person will also participate on the Rare Disease leadership team in order to stay connected to key business challenges and opportunities, and ensure that there is alignment with strategic priorities, or make adjustments to priorities when necessary. The scope of the role will focus on three key accountabilities: 1) facilitate the development of the Rare Disease strategic plan, providing a consistent structure to the plans done across PIH, 2) manage projects related to key strategic category issues, and 3) provide insight into impact of market signals that could impact business performance or strategic direction.







Responsibilities:



Partner with Rare Disease business leaders to develop business strategies at a Group, global



commercial and regional level (North America and International Developed Markets), and



identify key strategic imperatives and capabilities required to achieve those imperatives



Facilitate the completion of an annual strategic plan, as well as a strategy action plan that



manages the execution of the strategies



Lead or actively participate in projects that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers



such as market development, customer needs assessment, competitive advantage, market and/or



product prioritization



Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could impact future



business performance



Develop a deep expertise in Rare Disease market dynamics in order to identify market trends and appropriately assess opportunities and guide strategic direction



Engage with the Rare Disease LT to understand business needs and represent current status of



opportunity evaluations



Develop external relationships that provide perspective of the diverse Rare Disease eco-system



outside of Pfizer



Collaborate with other Group strategy leads to identify cross BU opportunities for alignment or



synergies across strategic imperatives



Active participation in the PIH Strategy team, supporting PIH strategy through the perspective



and experience of the Rare Disease Group







**Qualifications:**







+ 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Understands trends in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, aware of competitor strategies, knowledge of healthcare dynamics in the US and other major global markets, and understanding of the drug development and business development process.



+ Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization (ELT, Category Presidents, department leaders, and functional counterparts). Must be able to influence executive commercial and research leaders



+ Demonstration of strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and recommendation for direction or action



+ Ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications for Pfizer's Rare Disease business



+ Ability to work with complex information and distill into a framework that helps facilitate decision making



+ Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority



+ Strong presentation skills sufficient to address Global BU Leadership, ELT, and external audiences



+ Prior experience in consulting is preferred



+ BA/BS - required, life sciences degree helpful. MBA preferred
