What you'll do at

Position: Senior Engineer, Release

Job Location: Bentonville, AR

Duties: Simultaneously leads multiple support efforts for the hardware and software release management process of complex projects by creating, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy and completion of deployment plans, checklists, and contact lists; conducting final review of change control documentation for approval; assisting in the identification and development of metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs); reviewing and analyzing summary
progress and system reports to identify root causes of release issues; recommending process enhancements to improve the accuracy and quality of measurements and targets; and developing and delivering informational presentations to keep management and project teams up to date on project issues and activities. Leads system environment support (for example, Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production) for multiple or complex updates and releases by coordinating the preparation of servers for testing; ensuring test datasets are created and refreshed; creating and reviewing documentation of system environment support processes; developing, reviewing, and executing scripts to backup and recover test datasets; analyzing resource forecasts and utilization; and verifying the accuracy of assigned project allocations. Leads the build and deploy process for multiple or complex software releases by using source management tools to compile, package, and deploy application components; creating and reviewing build notes; monitoring build logs; verifying alignment of content with approved release specifications and changes; and mentoring and coaching Release Engineers and Analysts throughout the entire release management process. Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Information Systems Division (ISD) - Release Management and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 3 years experience in IT or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 1 year experience in IT or related field OR 5 years experience in IT or related field.

Skills required: Must have any amount of experience with: deploying sterling application on AIX Operating systems; deploying MAPS/BPML/XSLT/XSD/Scripts/Configurations on sterling application (4.3/5.1/5.2 versions); deploying ActiveMQ (AMQ) and servicemix tools for CAMLE application; Build and deploy Jar files (interfaces) on both Sterling and CAMLE application; UNIX and AIX operating systems; Informix, MSSQL, and MYSQL; Remedy for creating change requests (CRQ) and incident management; reading XML data, XSL and parsing it; and reading shell scripts and cron jobs.
