Description

Cox Automotive is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with 3 - 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced and highly successful team environment to support budget and forecasting activities, long-range planning, and ad hoc financial analysis for the organization.  Candidates must have a solid understanding of financial management concepts, complex modeling using Excel, measuring and reporting of key business drivers and variance analysis, and also have the ability to work with, manipulate and analyze large amounts of raw data and then repackage and simplify the results to present to Management.  This role will also assist with business planning, process alignment and technology requirements to manage and report on this business segment.  Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, genuine interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a diverse team environment with individuals and groups across Cox Automotive. This successful incumbent must embrace an innovative and entrepreneurial work ethic.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Provides bottoms up financial planning and creation of quarterly P&L forecasts and annual budget LRP for businesses within Inventory Solutions with close relationships to NA Auctions and other Cox Automotive businesses.  Requires construction and support of complex Excel modeling with a perspective on industry and consumer trend impacts on business drivers.
  • Direct and lead analysis and interpretation of financial results and variances to forecast and budget and make recommendations where appropriate.
  • Work closely with FP&A and Business Management to provide financial insights, financial support and prospective views of risks/opportunities in the business to better understand the trending of the business and the potential impact on future results.
  • Execute monthly financial results variance analysis, including discussions on key business drivers, and concisely present to Management.
  • Interpret financial data to identify trends provide thorough and value adding analysis, followed by insightful and relevant recommendations based on risks and opportunities as required.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of financial data, metrics and customer data to support business decisions and evaluation of new opportunities or changing business operations.
  • Understand the marketplace opportunity for areas of the business by providing insights that support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with various business owners to provide insightful and thoughtful analysis.


Qualifications

  • College degree required.  Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics degree preferred.  MBA a plus.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working within a like analytical financial environment to include financial strategy, management consulting, business performance management and/or corporate strategy.
  • Superior MS Excel skills required, including advanced formulas and macros, pivot tables, and VMB to include automation wherever possible.
  • Advanced skills in developing business plans, financial models, and operational plans.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively develop solutions with minimal guidance
  • Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple changing priorities and assignments / projects and perform under very tight deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate professional maturity
  • Must maintain/display executive presence
  • Demonstrable business acumen.
  • Proven customer focused project and process management skills.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling strength.
