Description

Role Summary:

Directs and performs financial analysis, modeling, and reporting activities to support short-term and long-range strategic plans for Cox Communications’ Technology Service Assurance Department. Provides client support through business case development and dashboard reporting. Identifies performance issues and makes recommendations to management for remedial actions. Prepares and distributes periodic financial analyses and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Productive professional contributor with strong understanding of area of focus.  Assigned to larger, moderately complex projects.  Work requires increasing independence; guidance is provided on a regular basis but primarily on unusual or complex issues.  Work typically involves periodic review of output by others.  Expert level of Excel proficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs financials analysis - Develops financial and operational analyses and identifies emerging trends.  May include cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and forecasting/budgeting.   Additional ad-hoc analysis based on customer need.
  • Performs data analysis - Gathers and compiles data used for identifying complex business trends/dynamic and provides recommendations. Develop construct to access and manipulate data from company data systems and sources.
  • Performs modeling - Conceptualizes, prepares and presents advanced economic models, analyses and recommendations.
  • Performs reporting - Develops and modifies financial reports and statements.  Creates advanced visualizations of extracted data.
  • Provide financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships - Recommends and facilitates changes; analyzes and reviews data and resolves questions and/or problems.  Assists in policy development to support change initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize business processes - Provides and reviews data to ensure both compliance and effectiveness of complex operational and financial processes, identifying anomalies and making recommendations.
  • Project Management – Facilitate partnership, coordinates stakeholder communication, and completes assignments to support project objectives.  


Qualifications

Minimum
  • 5+ years of experience required in related field (i.e. Finance, Operations, Business, etc.); Or 3+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree.
  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Financial modeling and data analysis experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Preferred
  • BS/BA in related discipline strongly preferred (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.). 
  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
  • Experience in SQL and Tableau highly preferred.
