Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Location: Connecticut-Shelton

This position reports to the Finance Manager within the Annuities Sales and Expense Finance team supporting Information Technology. This position is responsible for partnering with key business leaders across Technology to summarize financial results, prepare forecasts and provide insightful analysis. Knowledge of budgeting, planning, forecasting, as well as, the ability to connect business drivers and financial implications is critical.


Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to establishing processes and controls to insure accurate and timely reporting of monthly close and forecasts. This may involve preparing month end J/E’s, reviewing account reconciliations, development of annual operating plans and forecasts, preparing written analysis of expenses versus budget and forecast, supporting & collaborating with business partners to understand needs, gain insights, address issues and improve processes.


 Primary responsibilities include:

  • Posting  and review of monthly journal entries including month end accruals
  • Analysis and research of expense trends and variances
  • Assist with development of enhanced reporting tools/models
  • Development of SOP’s
  • Development of forecasts and budgets
  • Research and analysis for adhoc requests
  • Interaction and support for consolidation of monthly results and analysis
  • Assist with preparation of executive review materials for actual results and forecasts

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business related fields
  • 3 years of accounting / financial analysis experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to evaluate and successfully streamline processes
  • Ability to foster and build relationships across multiple departments
  • Superior analytical skills and financial modeling experience
  • Self motivated and proactive, with attention to detail, due dates and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, and challenging environment
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
