Description

The Encounter Data Sr. Financial Consultant will develop an expert knowledge of the CMS-Encounter Data submissions, its concepts and methodology in order to ensuring the completeness, accuracy, quality and integrity of the Encounter data submissions.  In addition, this person will perform detailed and complex analyses in order to identify and implement Encounter Data process improvement opportunities.  This position will be responsible for managing projects related to systems/technical solutions, requirements gathering and documentation, and troubleshooting and resolution. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in SAS/SQL and have a strong analytic experience; additionally, they need to be results oriented and willing to do whatever it takes to manage a project to completion.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Validate Encounter data extract logic, which includes oversight of logic programmed within internal systems based on CMS rules and guidelines.

  • Monitor CMS changes to the Encounter submissions and work with internal systems to ensure accurate implementation and compliance with CMS guidelines.

  • Provide short range trouble shooting for day to day issues and ongoing maintenance with the Encounter applications and reporting.   Makes recommendations as needed to ensure reliability of the process and finds innovative solutions when problems occur

  • Completeness Controls – Reconcile internal systems against CMS to ensure Encounter submissions are complete. 

  • Timely Submission Controls – Monitor the timely submission of Encounter Data to ensure compliance with CMS requirements.

  • Accuracy and Error Reporting – Generate Encounter Accuracy and Error reports.

  • Root Cause Analysis - Perform Root Cause Analysis to facilitate error correction and identify process improvement opportunities to improve accuracy and prevent future errors.

  • Coordinate Error Correction - Work with various internal teams to identify root causes and correct Encounter errors.

  • Develops policies and procedures for system, application and related operational processes in order to ensure optimization and compliance with CMS Encounter Submission guidelines

  • Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data

  • Review the analysis and interpretation of others work

  • Develop ad-hoc and standard operational reports

  • Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning

  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis

  • Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes

  • Document/Communicate root causes affecting performance as identified through analysis

  • Determine and track financials implications of  initiatives
