As the Senior Health Care Economics Analyst you will extract, analyze and interpret Medicare Advantage healthcare data to uncover trends, and assist in managing and understanding the financial impact of business decisions. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data. Along with your team, you will conduct analyses on very large data sets which will be used to create viable, real-world solutions in a complex health care landscape. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify, analyze and explain medical trends
  • Design and develop data queries through SAS and other tools to create models for analyzing business opportunities and interpreting key drivers of health care trends (i.e. medical cost, utilization, etc.)
  • Provide claims, premium, capitation and membership data in support of Underwriting, Actuarial, Product and utilization analyses
  • Work with broader finance team to create the connection between medical trend evaluations and financial results
  • Synthesize analysis across different categories and initiatives
  • Identify and implement appropriate analytic approaches / methodologies and perform quality assurance
  • Create summarized reports for leadership
  • Provide ongoing, meaningful, communications to managers on project status, results and conclusions from analyses
