Under the general guidance and functional direction of the CQ Laboratory Manager, the **Senior Incoming Material Supervisor** is responsible for supervision of analysts performing visual and dimensional testing in a safe, compliant and efficient manner of incoming commodity samples and data reviewers performing audit and release activities associated with incoming commodity samples. This position will evaluate testing data to determine compliance with established specifications. The Sr. IM Supervisor is expected to resolve daily analytical and quality problems, generally without any additional high level technical assistance other than the Chemical Quality Manager. The Sr. Incoming Material Supervisor **,** functions as a Subject Matter Expert for the Incoming Material lab in areas of testing, data review, investigations, documentation updates and release of products for a team within the Chemical Quality laboratory.

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Consistently adheres to company, site, and laboratory safety rules and immediately raises any safety issues with supervision as soon as they are identified.

+ Follows procedures at all times, adopting cGMP, cGDP practices.

+ Maintain proficiencies in testing and data review. The individual will support testing activities, data review, and investigation support as needed to support business needs.

+ Must be self-motivated and work with minimal direction

+ Demonstrate proficiency in computerized systems (Experience and use of LIMS and QTS are a plus).

+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot analytical methods

+ Coordinates the activities of Incoming Material Analysts and Data Reviewers to ensure efficiency of incoming testing and provides compliance oversight for analysts, assuring that thorough testing is performed.

+ Oversee work sequences for analysts, data review, and investigations and track progress of work sequences

+ Spearhead special projects such as Continuous Improvement initiatives or process flow improvements

+ Act as Department representative for Internal and External Business tours and Audits.

+ Review and provide feedback on SOP's, Investigations, and Reports as needed in the absence of Management.

+ SME for all equipment utilized by the IM department


+ Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years' experience required including a minimum of 6 years in direct leadership role (e.g. testing/team SME, project lead, training lead)

+ Prior experience in a lab environment preferred

+ Prior experience with computerized laboratory systems (Lims, Empower and Sample Manager) is a plus.

+ Must be familiar with operation and maintenance of routine Lab equipment, including various optical comparators, smartscope, calipers, micrometers, etc.

+ Must be able to troubleshoot routine instrument and test method problems.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ High level of organizational skills and independence.

+ Strong judgment and decision making ability.

+ Must be familiar with cGMP and cGLP for a pharmaceutical industry.
