**ROLE SUMMARY**



The Senior Industrial Engineer position contributes to McPherson Sterile Injectable Operations by using data to find ways to improve performance and eliminate waste in production processes. This role is directly responsible for:







+ Identifying opportunities and improving processes related to data collection, tracking and data analysis



+ Developing and maintaining



+ Production rate standards in site planning database (i.e. JDE, SAP)



+ Systems to input and collect production data



+ Appropriate metrics



+ Produce metrics and review with both shop floor and production management



+ Developing colleagues' and leaders' abilities to understand and leverage production-related data



+ Leading continuous improvement of the systems, tools, and methods the organization uses to accomplish these deliverables







This role also participates in the annual budget process, working closely with finance and production management to establish the basis for staffing models and product costing. This position also may provide key input to master planning activities and broader Pfizer-wide network strategy assessments.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Develop and maintain Sterile Injectable Operations rate standards, scheduling tools, and systems to input and collect production data. This includes the annual budget process, working closely with Finance and Production management.



+ Assure appropriate performance metrics exist and are in use for responsible plant area; including shop floor as well as management level metrics.



+ Using the typical Industrial Engineering tool set, analyze and assess shop floor related data, creating information for the plant to make sound decisions and prepare for the future.



+ Review practices, identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to streamline data collection systems, tools and methods the organization uses to achieve production deliverables.



+ Review practices and identify continuous improvement opportunities to streamline data collection and downstream processes.



+ Identify and recommend specific areas for change to meet cost, quality, supply or new/transfer product objectives.



+ Facilitate, educate and partner with production management and other production colleagues to lead a culture of standard work and continuous improvement efforts within the site's lean management system.



+ Lead improvement projects and maintain process simulation tools to help deliver results in cost reduction, quality, supply and safety.







Develop colleagues' and leaders' ability to understand and leverage production data to improve performance and make strategic decisions.







**QUALIFICATIONS**







+ 3-5 years related experience with BA/BS in technical discipline required, preferrably Industrial Engineering; 1-3 years related experience with Masters or PhD in technical discipline, preferably Industrial Engineering or related field.



+ Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, particularly drug product production desired.



+ Green Belt certification desired.







**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**







+ Ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis. May require significant hours sitting and/or computer work from time to time.



+ Strong organizational skills required to ensure that both standard reporting responsibilities and project/budget deliverables are met.







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**







+ Occasional support of off-shift operations, as required, by project or operational needs. Will require occasional production floor gowning and direct production floor support.
