Description

Cox Communications is looking for a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineer III to join the Cox.com DevOps Team.  This person will be responsible for installation, configuration, and support of J2EE based web application infrastructure and associated automation and monitoring.  This position serves as escalation resource to the web scrum teams and operations teams for infrastructure and automation related issues. Responsible for assessing solutions designs and project requirements for infrastructure, automation and monitoring needs and then the design and implementation of needed infrastructure elements.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Design, document, and support the infrastructure for multiple environments in both Non-Production and Production network spaces
Provide hands-on project management to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure required for new projects
Help to drive architectural improvements and standardization for the infrastructure environments
Develop alerts and dashboards for both technical and non-technical audiences in tools like Splunk and New Relic
Define automated processes to release new solutions into the target environments in a timely, repeatable fashion
Collaborate with other technology teams and vendors to develop and support detailed application design
Write and run automated provisioning and deployment
Support the scrum teams in both the lab and production for any infrastructure or CI/CD related escalations 
Mentor and train co-workers
Tier 4, 24/7 support will be required (as needed)
This is a "hands on" technical position and will require the individual to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced software and technical lifecycle
Interact with other technology teams to seamlessly implement solutions to complex technical issues
Adhere to all existing Cox Communications security and software standards

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum:
Self-motivated learner and doer 
Generally, 4+ years of experience in related field OR 3+ years of experience if candidate has an advanced degree
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Must demonstrate strong team building skills
Excellent scripting skills (Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python) –  3+ years
Knowledge of J2EE technology such as JMS, JDBC, JNDI –  4+ years
Knowledge of network routing and load balancing
Skilled in RHEL, JBoss and Apache implementation and administration – 4+ years
Must be able to translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications
 
Preferred:
Experience designing, configuring, and supporting high traffic web applications
Experience working in Agile/DevOps model
Hands on code development experience
Automation and orchestration (CI/CD) experience (Ansible Tower, Jenkins)
Working knowledge of IaaS/PaaS concepts (containers)
Experience implementing and supporting monitoring solutions (New Relic, Dynatrace, Nagios)
Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms (VMWare, AWS)
Knowledge of developer tools (Git, Stash, SVN, Splunk)
Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager a plus
