 Position Description:

 

Prudentials Alternative Assets Group is a unit of the Global Chief Investment Officer organization, which conducts asset and liability management and portfolio construction for all of Prudentials domestic and international business operations. The Alternative Assets Group is responsible for managing over $9 billion in assets, comprised of private equity and hedge funds, as well as real estate and other investments in real assets.

 

The Alternative Assets Group is seeking a seasoned investment professional to join its hedge fund team. The hedge fund portfolio has investments globally in hedge funds across a broad range of strategies including macro, equity long/short, relative value and event driven. The portfolio has a net asset value of approximately $3 billion. The position reports to the Head of Hedge Funds. The candidate will be expected to:

 

     Serve as one of Prudentials hedge fund specialists and be informed about current and developing trends in the sector;

     Manage Prudentials core hedge fund relationships;

     Identify, evaluate and recommend funds for possible investment across various strategies;

     Assist in sourcing, monitoring and due diligence of investments on an opportunistic basis;

     Create and generate analytical tools/reports to help analyze and assess hedge fund portfolios;

       •     Work with counsel to negotiate terms and side letters.


 

 

    Minimum of 5 years investing and conducting due diligence in hedge funds across a wide range of investment strategies; hedge fund industry relationships a plus

     Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

     Strong verbal and written communications skills

     Strong decision making and negotiating skills

     Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

     Bachelors degree required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bloomberg needed
