We are looking for talented Senior IT Site Reliability/Application Support Engineer with software development and operations background. An expert who can deliver unparalleled user experience through technology innovation and operational excellence. We are seeking for a passionate individual with a software-centric mindset to work closely with Operations, Business and Software Development teams, desire to embrace automation and demonstrate the ability to resolve critical issues and deliver engineering solutions to design, build, and maintain efficient large-scale systems.

We in Cisco IT are going through a major transformation towards Cloud Native and software-defined services. Being part of Cisco IT application support team, the focus is to build a better tomorrow using automation and cloud-native applications, help ensure that production systems are always up and running by solving problems and build solutions to prevent recurrences.

Who You Are

You have a strong background in both engineering and operations. An expert who has extensive experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale high available distributed systems. You have a demonstrated track record of software engineering (plan, build, operate and support).

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving systems engineering (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience
  • Experience developing in a CI/CD, DevOps model
  • Experience with Cloud Native software development and robotic process automation using Mongo DB, Apache Cassandra, Hadoop
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Oracle Apps, Finance Apps, Sales Apps, Cloud Apps, Databases, C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, Ruby or Shell Scripting.
  • Experience in application support, software bug-fix and maintenance

  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies, and hardware, SDN)
  • Possess strong ability to tackle complex problems creatively
  • Possess excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Team player who is highly self-driven and motivated with high-level of initiative
  • Ability to work in an operational environment and be able to participate in on-call rotation
  • Lead and constantly working proactively to improve scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Experience with Cloud Native software development is a major plus
  • Strong knowledge in Sales, Finance and Supply Chain are a major plus
