Sodexo Government North America is seeking a Sr. Brand Manager, Operations Support Culinary to lead the culinary process for the WEST Coast USMC. This position will be located in Oceanside.


The Sr. Brand Manager, Operations Support - Culinary will provide culinary leadership and expertise for USMC with Marine Bases located in California and Arizona.


The primary role of this position would be the following:


Culinary Creativity: Follows culinary trends and innovates, is able to translate ideas into unique menu and recipe programs that advance the culinary experience for the USMC


Leadership: Ability to effectively manage and communicate with Culinary Staff, USMC Key Personnel, Management Teams along with a passion and dedication to be “one of the best”. Candidate must be highly engaged and extremely hands-on in day to day operations.


Training: Must be able to articulate and demonstrate a wide ranging variety of cooking techniques and skills for the management and hourly staff (presentation, quality, safety, proper culinary techniques).


Financial: Ability to manage and demonstrate proven results with food costs, labor and controllable expenses.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution, menu design & implementation;
  • Focus on customer service excellence
  • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of employee
  • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation
  • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets
  • Culinary Degree or five years as an Executive or Area Chef a plus.


Qualified candidates must have a strong background in culinary operations, systems, process improvement, marketing, organizational skills, and a strong knowledge in food safety and sanitation are just a few of the qualities that candidates should possess.


Will also assist with special Marine events; Culinary Foundations Training, Quarterly Culinary Competition, and the Marine Corps Marathon Kids Fun Run

Position Summary

Plays a key role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of product/service offerings, brands and/or in-house signature and national brands. Develops and evaluates product/service offerings for the brands within the assigned categories to provide highly differentiated options that meet the needs of Sodexo's broad consumer base. Utilizes information from market research, sales, vendors, and units to make recommendations that improve sales and profitability. Provides input to the marketing team regarding opportunities for product/service or brand enhancements. Assists with modification of products/services to meet their specific needs. Also assists with initial installation of new products, services and programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 5 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in marketing or related field
