Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide team with professional and technical expertise to ensure that data analytics audit objectives are satisfied. This includes guiding and assisting staff in the development of data analytics and evaluating the performance of the team.
- Combine technical expertise with the ability to architect, deploy, and oversee analytics including conducting all required analytic reviews for the team.
- Works with analytics / visualization software such as SQL, SSIS, and Tableau to perform analysis and interpret data.
- Collaborates with audit / business stakeholders in determining business risks through the application of data analytics.
- Drive documentation and communication of results and recommendations to audit teams.
- Lead any special analytics projects undertaken by the department.
- Ensure IAAS analytics resources are effectively scheduled and deployed across audit engagements.
- Develop specifications to support data management processes and capabilities (e.g., governance, archiving, metadata, master data, data modeling, and data quality).
- Drive data acquisition expansion and perform data profiling to ensure data availability/completeness/accuracy/consistency
- Drive internal audit Data Analytics to mature program and enhance capabilities
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, analytics, data science, statistics or related degree, or equivalent experience
- 2 or more year of leadership experience
- 4 or more years of work experience in data analytics / data science
- Expertise with Data Analytics Best Practices and the Data Analytics Lifecycle
- 2 or more years of programming experience (e.g., C#, Java, Visual Basic, Ruby, Oracle PL/SQL, R, etc.)
- Hands on experience with SQL
- Data visualization experience (Tableau, Crystal Reports, etc.)
- ETL experience (SSIS, Datastage)
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Strong Excel skills with familiarity working with multiple file types
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, or Mathematics
- Experience working in a Healthcare Industry and or a complex IT environment is desirable
- Internal Audit / Control Experience
- Advanced analytics experience (SPSS, SAS, R, etc.)
- Big Data analytics experience (Hadoop)
- Pursue audit, assurance, risk, or IT related certification
