Description

The Senior Manager – Product Management, Digital Retailing is responsible for leading a team mandated with the transformation of the traditional auto retailing model to an Online experience aligning to the expectations of today’s consumer. In addition to conveying the long term product vision, the Senior Manager – Product Management, Digital retailing will define the product road map and identify feature sets prioritized by business value.

  1. In addition to ensuring successful adoption of the products in the market place, The Senior Manager – Product Management, Digital Retailing will be responsible for the day to day management of strategic partner relationships and facilitate presentations to potential prospects, C level executives and at industry related events. 

The Senior Manager – Product Management, Digital Retailing will manage a team of Product Owners and Product Managers and partner with software engineering to manage the products through the Software Development Lifecycle within an Agile framework.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the definition of Digital Retailing product strategy and roadmap requirements to drive P&L goals for specific Digital Retailing product lines. Develop and present business case justification for new product initiatives and enhancements.

  • Work with external customers to understand business process and flows to deliver software solutions that meet business needs

  • Work with cross functional solutions teams to deliver integrated solutions across the Dealertrack platforms

  • Ability to work with software engineering team on complex information products, working through all phases of the product development life cycle
  • Collects and analyzes data on customer preferences and needs to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand. Conducts market research that will assist in driving feature prioritization.
  • Support sales efforts with a product marketing plan (including market segmentation) and provide training and support as needed

  • Spends time in new markets researching the business processes required of new product initiatives and in current markets, assessing functional enhancement prioritization. Lead role in defining lender, OEM, Dealer and Partner facing business processes and product feature sets. 
  • Interfaces with internal and external partners and clients as a representative and subject matter expert for the product(s) assigned.
  • Owns vision and product roadmap and feature prioritization. Participates in establishing feature
  • acceptance criteria and collaborative design sessions. Provides the team with definition, clarification and acceptance of features. 
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data (such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires), or arrange to obtain existing data. Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.

Qualifications

:   Bachelors Degree                   Details:    or the equivalent knowledge required
  • Experience:  5-7 yrs                  Details:    working with software engineering teams on complex systems
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in product management, with progressive growth and demonstrated success managing products
  • Strong data and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate will all levels and areas of Dealertrack
  • Previous software product management experience required.
  • Previous experience with Scrum or Agile methodologies strongly desired.
  • Experience in the following software strongly desired: JIRA, MS Excel (Advanced), MS Powerpoint, MS Visio
  • Understands the evolving auto retailing model
  • Familiarity with the Automotive Finance industry a plus.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking skills - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Sound inductive reasoning required-- The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
