Description The Senior Manager, Reputation and Science Communications, reports to the Senior Director, Reputation, within the Corporate Affairs function at Pfizer. The senior manager will support the strategic development and execution of reputation and science communications.

On the reputation side, the Senior Manager will lead the Return on Reputation measurement program that has been expanded to include insights at the corporate and business unit levels and across 8 countries. As the key contact with the agency and for business leadership and country leadership teams and corporate affairs colleagues, the Senior Manager will be responsible for helping these teams turn information into insights that can guide and support imperative 3 --- be respected by society.

From the perspective of the need to communicate science, the senior manager will help advance Pfizer's positioning as a biopharmaceutical innovator by creating powerful, unique content that speaks to the R&D priorities and areas of focus at Pfizer. The Senior Manager should have experience in uncovering stories, packaging them into powerful bits of content and ensuring maximum engagement. He/she should be very comfortable distilling down complex information and translating for broad audiences. The senior manager should have a point of view on how to communicate pipeline milestones, whether via press releases, investor meetings, external speaking engagements or others. Additionally, the senior manager should be interested in scientific technology platforms and how they help advance breakthrough therapies. The work includes but is not limited to the creation of digital, broadcast and traditional written materials; briefing documents for key external meetings; and supporting enterprise wide reputation efforts which require strong emphasis on science.

Based in New York, but working within a matrixed global organization with several cross-functional teams, the Senior Manager will:


+ Support the globalization of the Return on Reputation study working with our agency, corporate affairs colleagues and the business to track and report on our corporate reputation drivers and rankings across therapeutic areas and turn insights into strategies to improve the business reputation

+ Collaborate with teams to customize presentations and actionable take-aways that the business can implement

+ Work to develop and execute digital content in support of the corporate advertising campaign, including content targeting opinion leaders and policy leaders with a range of media partners and vendors.

+ Help shape Pfizer's corporate reputation strategy to support and advance our science, partnership and patient/public health focus **Science Communications**

+ Create science-specific content to be used across all Pfizer reputation efforts and campaigns both internally and externally.

+ Mine the Worldwide Research and Development organization to identify opportunities to tell compelling, unique stories that illustrate Pfizer's core R&D areas, strategy, and expertise.

+ Liaise and partner with with cross-functional teams across research units, business, legal and corporate affairs to ensure the collective point of view is reflected in materials development.

+ Flawlessly execute multiple pieces of content to maximize the exposure and engagement for each story both internally and externally

+ Occasional support to portfolio milestones and technology platform positioning both externally and internally

Educational Requirements:

+ Minimum required: Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, English, social sciences, policy business/economics, healthcare/pre-med, or related fieldsCapability requirements:

+ 10 or more years of experience across a variety of corporate communications disciplines (e.g. internal communications, digital communications (web and social media), public/media relations, executive communications) and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and plans, or demonstrably equivalent skills in an exceptional setting. Experience in a corporate or other large, global, complex organization a plus.

+ Proven track record of developing and delivering a diverse and innovative set of communications tactics to advance program and business goals

+ Strong writing, editing, project management and people skills; track record of reliable and timely communication planning and execution

+ Strong initiative to create powerful pieces of content; knowledge of content creation tools and ability to produce videos, develop infographics and other designed pieces of content

+ Ability to work comfortably and persuasively with senior executives and across cross-functional teams

+ Knowledge on how reputation and science communications to advance positioning

+ Strong verbal and presentation skills; ability to convey complex ideas to colleagues and external audiences

+ Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and strategic, analytical and leadership capabilities

+ Knowledge of and expertise in current and emerging social media and digital communications and trends

+ Ability to work effectively and inclusively in teams with diverse internal and external stakeholders; influence/negotiation skills and relationship management capabilities are essential. Ability to represent a point of view a must

+ Flexibility, self-awareness, good attitude/humor, perseverance, ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in change, and a can-do attitude

+ Familiarity with healthcare and biopharmaceuticals industries - knowledge of the R&D space is a plus

+ Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility

+ Must care about making a positive difference in people's health and lives.
