Role & Responsibilities


As a member of the IoT engineering team, you will:

·       Participate in the design, engineering and operation of core network nodes related to the fulfillment of mission-critical wireless data services

·       Deploy and maintain physical server platforms including Cisco UCS, Dell, Blade servers and virtualized servers including VMWare and Hypervisor

·       Provide administrative support of Linux systems (RedHat and CentOS). Installing the Linux operating system, managing the configurations, troubleshooting, monitoring the status of systems and applications

·       Support installed Linux applications and network services (DNS, AAA, CALEA, etc.)

·       Manage integration and testing with worldwide operators and enterprise customers

·       Troubleshoot operational issues escalated to the Engineering team, during and outside of business hours

·       Drive towards continuous improvement through process automation and knowledge sharing

·       Contribute across the broader team on initiatives expand knowledge research and development for future growth and enhancements of wireless data network platforms

 

Minimum Qualifications

·       BS /MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 8 years of experience



·       Hands-on experience with Linux systems and server virtualization technologies

·       Networking knowledge (OSI Layers, Network Topologies, TCP/IP, etc.)

·       Advanced knowledge of script languages such as Shell and Perl

·       Experience with 24X7 support model with oncall rotation

·       Knowledge of distributed computing

·       Must be motivated, self-directed and a self-starter

 

Desired Skills

·       Advanced experience with DNS systems such as BIND and PowerDNS

·       Advanced experience with wireless technologies such as UMTS and LTE

·       Experience with Tomcat and Apache web servers

·       Experience with Cisco Products - CCNA or higher preferred

·       Knowledge and experience with “Platform as a Service” environments or other application development platforms

·       Strong team player, with ability to actively contribute in teams with different skill and experience levels

·       Experience building highly scalable solutions


·       Excellent troubleshooting skills on a busy infrastructure setup
