Southwest Medical, part of OptumCare, is a multi-specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 300 providers, 21 medical health centers including six urgent care clinics, four convenient care centers, two lifestyle centers catering to older adults, an outpatient surgery center, home health, hospice and palliative care services, plus E-visits and online options via Now Clinic telemedicine technology. Southwest Medical offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. Southwest Medical is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.
 
The Sr. Referral Navigator will provide leadership, guidance, support, and direction to the Referral Navigators. They will serve as a resource for customer service questions and or concerns related to referrals. The Sr. Referral Navigator will train all new navigators, perform audits, cover PTO/call offs, and work with the navigators on process improvements. Must be willing and able to work directly face to face with multiple patients daily. Also, willing to float between locations in order to cover shifts, resolve problems, and perform audits.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide lead guidance, support, and training for the front office and non-clinical staff function as first contact for customer service issues. Resolve complex issues by deferring to supervisor or manager
  • Responsible for enforcing custom service standards, billing functions to include patient check in and out process, cash handling, demographics and insurance information
  • Oversee and monitor empanelment and call process making adjustments as needed to meet customer expectations, mediate patient issues and manage the administrative aspect of the patient visit, ensuring that custom service standards are met
  • Complete daily deposit. Accountable for adherence to business compliance audits criteria. Serve as lead in assisting management with staff oversight, orientation and training
  • Oversight of efficient customer service processes including waiting room management
  • Responsible for compliance requirements as dictated by clinic and company
    Maintain current list of clinic assets
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the clinic and report to management when items need to be replaced
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare environment  
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client and patient sites within a designated area
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Medical assistant certification
  • Experience as a lead, senior level or supervisor
