Cox Communications is searching for a Senior Platform Architect. You will be responsible for the development and adherence to technical specifications for various Cox Homelife and/or Cox Business Security Solutions platforms and associated customer premises equipment, define test strategies, and provide top level support of all platforms/products deployed. What is exciting about this role? You will serve as a technical subject matter expert on a team supporting a fast-paced industry to introduce advanced premises security, surveillance, and automation solutions/enhancements; monitoring key metrics for these solutions, you will also drive the investigation and resolution of identified product/platform issues. Who will I work with? You will work closely with key vendors and internal partners, across all Cox markets, as a key contributor in Cox achieve its business objectives. 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Develop technical specifications that meet business/product requirements, aligning with industry standards and best practices.
  • Define and coordinate testing strategies for solutions (under review and delivered)
  • Manage and prioritize the resolution of bugs and other technical issues with the Product Leads and Enterprise Quality Assurance.
  • Serve as the Tier 4 escalation path for field issues.
  • Support software and hardware upgrades as directed, including execution of plans, distribution of necessary communications, and fallback activities (if needed).
  • Ensure that technical support escalation paths are functioning correctly.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Product Operations documentation and platform configurations.


  • 5 + years of industry experience required managing technology operations in the cablecom and/or home or business premises security.
  • Knowledge and experience with various wireless communications solutions is a plus (i.e. WiFi, Access Points, Repeaters, Zigbee, ZWave, etc.).
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, bug documentation, and coordinating technology upgrades. 
  • Capable of operating under an Agile development and delivery framework; able to adapt to changing development and business landscapes 
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.


  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred (i.e. Engineering or related degree). 
  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
