Description

We are currently looking for Sr. Platform Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join the team in Atlanta, GA.

Sr. Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing software using Informatica ETL tool sets. The engineer will be accountable for partnering with key roles (e.g. project managers, architects, business analysts, etc.) to develop software code that is aligned to organization’s software development standards, principles, leveraging common solutions and services, to support the technical capabilities at Cox Automotive. The engineer will be responsible for solution to meet functional requirements and follows Cox Automotive standards. They will also assist other team members as needed with other data related projects. The engineer will be responsible and assist the team in monitoring of implemented Database objects, ETL programs, and ETL scheduler to ensure they complete normally and performing optimally.

To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills with delivery and engineering team members, operations support staff and business customers. In addition, the successful Data Engineer must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.

Your Role:
  • Lead effort to consolidate disparate data sources through implementation of an efficient and optimized ETL strategy.
  • Work with various teams to analyze data in the data warehouse, data mart or operational systems
  • Contributor in the creation of a robust Business Intelligence environment  that allows business customers to view and manipulate data sets on their own Inform data and project sponsors of vision and progress
  • Work with users to translate requirements into system flows, data flows, data mappings etc., and develop solutions to complex business problems
  • Responsible for the transforming, moving, storing , delivering all data within the Enterprise
  • Responsible for designing and setting up  ETL processes to and from a High volume data warehouse 
  • Responsible for Data Quality, Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Source Target Mapping Design, Performance Tuning and ingest of High Volume Data Loads
  • Liaison with technical support 
  • Conducts code reviews of application components developed by themselves or other staff for standards adherence, efficiency and use of best practices
  • Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s) 
  • Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the ETL Platform application(s), functional area(s) or project(s) 
  • Respond quickly/effectively to production issues by taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
  • Proactively serve as a troubleshooting resource and subject matter expert across the team
  • Provide educational/mentoring to project teams and others
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor with key internal and external stakeholders


Qualifications

Required Experience (minimum):
  • 7+ years of IT professional experience or its equivalent roles. 
  • Thorough understanding of SQL, Stored procedures, shell scripting, XML, ETL, SOA, REST and Web Services technologies. 
  • A solid understanding of web technologies, relational databases, and data warehousing
  • Good understanding of dimensional modeling and ETL designs for loading Star Schemas
  • Strong database experience, data analysis and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current technology trends and their application(s)
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and professional skills are required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent experience 


What We Look For (preferred):
  • Experience in Informatica MDM Hub, Service Integration Framework on Informatica MDM platform.
  • Understanding of Informatica MDM concepts including, but not limited to: Match Rules Tuning, workflow, IDD etc. 
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem a plus
