Job Summary:
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our Consumer Products team. This role will be responsible for managing the development, maintenance and optimization of our Buyers section of the site. This role includes but is not limited to contributing to and managing the product roadmap, overseeing the implementation and working in an agile environment with a cross-functional team to develop products that meet the needs of our consumers & clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy

o Engage with consumers, clients & KBB Sales to understand the needs of each audience
o Define and communicate business needs, technology expectations, business priorities and project scope/expectations
o Identify market opportunities and evaluate the competitive landscape
o Develop product roadmaps to communicate the vision of the products to internal stakeholders
o Create opportunity assessments to gain buy-in, secure funding and communicate the product vision
  • Planning
o Collaborate with user experience, engineering, ad product, marketing and sales to develop execution and launch plans
o Develop go-to market strategies and value propositions to support product launches
o Identify key use cases and KPI’s to evaluate product performance
  • Execution
o Responsible for day-to-day product scrum responsibilities including writing, sizing, prioritizing stories and attending team meetings
  • Evaluation
o Understand the sales performance of a product, who’s buying and why
o Monitor performance, compile status, and communicate performance to all levels of management.
o Monitor products to ensure they are delivering expected value to our consumers & clients

The role is responsible for overall product success as measured by consumer & customer satisfaction / loyalty, revenue growth (short and long-term), adoption and product performance. The product manager will typically partner with other product managers, user experience, developers and ad product managers embedded in agile teams to develop & enhance the kbb.com experience & product offering. Up to 15% travel is expected to spend time with consumers, clients & Cox Automotive business units to develop a keen understanding of consumer & consumer needs and cross business unit opportunities.

Qualifications

  • College Degree (BA/BS, or advanced degree – MBA Preferred)
  • Background in Editorial & Publisher products a plus
  • Demonstrated success as a Product Manager in product lifecycle management (minimum 3-5 years) including: 
o Developing and launching new products or features
o Developing opportunity assessments and/or business cases
o Developing concept and product definitions
o Product monitoring and evaluation
o Product optimization and extension
  • Soft skills to quickly gain the confidence, trust and support of internal clients and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written, presentation, communication and listening skills
  • Strong problem solving experience
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Internet/Mobile Products
o Digital Media/Advertising
o Automotive Industry
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript is a plus
  • Experience and understanding of the automotive ecosystem including OEMs, dealers, national agencies and regional ad associations is a plus. 
  • Publisher and SEO experience a plus.
