**Role Description:**

This role is responsible for Thailand and IndoChina Vaccines Medical and Scientific Affairs. Provides scientific and medical support for key internal and external stakeholders for the commercially available vaccines as well as for those in development in the Vaccines therapeutic area in accordance with internal corporate policy to ensure that the business objectives of nominated products are realized and the interests of the customer and Pfizer are protected. The position is accountable for all medical plans and deliverables for vaccines in these countries.


**Medical/Scientific and Operational Support at Country Level for Malaysia/Singapore and Brunei:**

Take part in the development and achievement of strategy, tactics, and operating plan at country level advancing the marketing of vaccine products and therapeutic area to ensure that medical plans in specified TA are successfully developed and executed to achieve short- and long-term objectives in alignment with the Global, Regional and Local vaccine and PIH business strategy goals.

+ In compliance and close coordination with the Regional Medical Lead develop key projects to drive products through proper dissemination of medical and scientific information in the country.

+ Partners with Vaccines commercial organization and is the single point of contact and accountability to ensure medical alignment on key strategies, deliverables and communication for the countries of responsibilities

+ Primary point of contact for scientific queries from Regulatory authorities

+ Primary point of contact for country immunization committees and Ministry of Health in the countries of responsibilities

+ Review regulatory, medical and safety materials from scientific point of view to ensure full compliance with local medical, regulatory and legal requirements. In compliance with ethical business principles provides scientific support and expertise to cross-functional team and other internal stakeholders with respect to materials creation and approval, advertising and educational programmes, clinical research, medical information, regulatory issues.

+ Manage issues that may adversely affect business. Challenge competitors' claims and defending Pfizer products and promotional materials when challenged

+ Developing and executing the local annual Vaccines Medical Budget, owning responsibility for appropriate spending in full alignment with local business and Regional Medical Plan.

+ Provide educational support inside cross-functional team as well as Field Force training in appropriate therapy area medical knowledge. When applicable, participates in processes of local and regional medical colleagues development and supervision

+ Supporting Public affairs Colleagues with relevant medical inputs for developing communication, patient/disease management programmes with the aim of addressing unmet medical need

+ Contribute to development of Regional and Global Clinical Development plans ensuring local clinical needs are addressed. Support in clinical trial associated issues in Malaysia (protocol/site feasibility questionnaires, recommend and assess clinical trials centers assessments) Singapore and Brunei

+ Coordination of administrative procedures in accordance with Pfizer polices.

+ Maintenance of all relevant and required MAPP documents, procedures and conditions

**External stakeholders relations, safety reporting and medical information**

Target and develop ongoing relationships with relevant bodies, institutes and opinion leaders for vaccines to ensure that they always have the accurate, updated and comprehensive medical information aligned with Pfizer vaccines strategies and to foster Pfizer's efforts to establish and maintain its therapeutic leadership position, including but not limited to:

+ Development working relations with key establishments (i.e. patient organizations, professional organizations, medical societies)

+ Development and maintenance support and relationships with Key Opinion Leaders

+ Participation in and Conducting advisory/advocacy boards and develops the advocacy of the company vaccines

+ Participation in activities related to building public relations between Pfizer and external stakeholders

+ Content approval for promotional materials

+ Development of support for Investigator Initiated Research grants (IIRs) and management of associated relationships, including contacts in the appropriate therapy area, assistance in Collaborative research work.

+ To be consistent with Safety Reporting Plan, perform and document regular review of individual subject safety data and perform review of cumulative safety data with the safety risk lead (as delegated by the clinical lead). The specific components of safety data review are detailed in the Safety Data Review Guide - for Clinicians and SAF09 SOP

+ Provides responses to medical inquiries coming from field force for specified therapeutic area, being responsible for tracking and maintenance of needed information related to medical inquiries

**Required Skill Set (Competencies):**


+ Advanced scientific or medical degree with experience in clinical development or medical affairs in vaccines therapeutic area

+ Vaccines and Infectious Disease area expertise to be credible both within and outside countries of responsibilities

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills and strong interpersonal skills

+ Fluent Business/Scientific English (verbal and written)

+ Systems Technologies - Understanding of the state of the art technologies in order to support the evaluation of incorporating them into the organization. Advanced computer skills


+ Therapeutic area experience in Infectious Diseases and/or Vaccines

+ Professional experience in hospitals, research or pharmaceutical industry desirable.

+ Project and process management: ability to manage projects and cross-functional processes

+ Administrative excellence: attention to detail evident in a disciplined approach to document training, adherence to SOPs, forecast to spend tracking, metrics, etc.

+ Organizational skills: Works independently. Receives instruction, ability to prioritize

+ Interpersonal communications: Team player. Displays sensitivity to manage relationships and ability to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues and associates both within and external to the organization

+ Influencing: Demonstrated ability to introduce and implement new ideas. Effectively overcoming barriers encountered during implementation of new processes and systems

+ Cultural awareness and Sensitivity: Works well across functional and country boundaries, respecting communication, functional priorities and cultural differences in interpersonal relationships. Ability to work in multicultural environment
